Scott County Community Invited to Candidate and Issues Panel Ahead of Early Voting
Residents of Scott County are invited to attend a comprehensive Candidate and Issues Event for the 2026 State and Local Elections on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM EDT at Timber Rock Lodge (22153 Alberta St, Oneida, TN 37841). The event takes place the evening before early voting begins, offering voters a timely opportunity to hear directly from candidates across multiple races.
This in-person panel discussion will bring together candidates for state, judicial, and local offices to address key issues impacting Scott County and the State of Tennessee. All candidates who have qualified for the August ballot will be invited to attend.
The event is designed to promote transparency, informed decision-making, and civic engagement in advance of the election.
Event Format
Candidates will be organized by race and called forward in groups. Each participant will be given a set time to respond to a series of pre-identified issues relevant to their office, ensuring a structured, fair, and efficient forum for discussion.
Community Engagement Opportunity
This event provides a rare, comprehensive forum bringing together nearly all candidates on a single stage. Attendees will gain direct insight into candidate positions, compare responses side-by-side, and better understand how each office impacts daily life in Scott County.
Community members are encouraged to attend, listen, and engage in the democratic process before casting their ballots. Admission is free.
Residents are encouraged to arrive early for seating.
