Oneida Indians Defeat Scott Highlanders, 13-4

The two county high school baseball teams faced off on Friday evening at the Jack E. Lay Sports Complex with the Oneida Indians coming away with the win.
The Highlanders started the game off with Micah Boles scoring one run off a hit by Adam Boles in the first inning. Oneida came out strong with Eli Rector hitting a triple, followed by a double by Caden Shoemaker bringing Rector in. By the end of the first, Oneida had a 6-1 lead.
The second and third innings saw the Indians scoring 3 more runs. Rector scores from third base off a wild pitch; Shoemaker and Ryon both hit an RBI single, bringing the score to 9-1.
The Highlanders wouldn’t score again until the 5th inning when Adam Boles hit a pop fly with the bases loaded, bringing in Jones, Duncan, and M. Boles. The Indians quickly answered with three runs in the bottom of the 5th, from an RBI double from Shoemaker and a two RBI single from Ryon bringing the score to 12-4.
Scott was unable to get any more points on the board in the 6th inning while Oneida’s Zeke Orick was able to score one more run for them off an RBI single by Jordan King.
The game ended after the top of the 7th with a final score of 13-4.
