Early Voting Takes Off

Early voting for Tennessee’s May 5th state and county primary elections began on Wednesday, April 15th and will continue through April 30th, giving voters an opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day. Early voting is a process that allows registered voters to vote in person before the official election date, offering greater flexibility and helping reduce crowding at polling places on Election Day itself.
In Scott County, early voting is available at two locations: the Scott County Office Building and Oneida City Hall. Any registered voter in the county is eligible to participate in early voting, regardless of precinct.
“It’s been challenging to help everyone understand the process,” Gabe Krahn, Scott County’s Administrator of Elections, told SCN, noting that public awareness remains a key focus during the early voting and primary periods.
As of April 18th, 847 votes had already been cast in Scott County, reflecting steady participation in the opening days of the early voting window. Officials encourage voters who plan to participate to take advantage of the remaining days before the April 30th deadline.
Early voting is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10AM to 2PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM to 6PM, and on Saturday from 9AM to 12PM.
