According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), a fatal crash claimed the life of a McCreary County man on Sunday. According to KSP, a preliminary investigation revealed that a popular McCreary County man, 60-year-old Darrell “Dee” Ball was driving westbound on Wilburn K. Ross Highway, near downtown Historic Stearns, when his vehicle exited the right side of the roadway.
As a result of the single car accident, KSP say that the vehicle carrying Ball overturned, struck a tree, and the victim was subsequently ejected from the vehicle. Ball was pronounced dead at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner’s Office.
KSP notes that Ball was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the accident remains under investigation.
