William Seth Lay
July 16, 1979 ~ November 17, 2025

William Seth Lay, well-known as Seth, 46, from Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025. He was full of life and enjoyed bringing people together. He truly loved his parents and wife, Nicole. Intelligent and funny, Seth had a big presence that could light up a room. He had a heart of gold and often helped people come out of their shells. He loved football and was a true Bengals fan through and through.
Seth was born in Cincinnati to parents William Dester Lay, known as Bill, and Dolores Lay. Seth was raised in Norwood, OH and earned his Associates Degree from the University of Cincinnati. Seth loved history and visiting historical monuments when traveling. Seth recently married Nicole (Wells) Lay on October 17, 2025. During the dating years, the two bonded through their love of music and vinyl record shopping. Since then, and for those who know, Seth and Nicole were often spending their weekends comic book and funko pop shopping, as well as building his collection of action figurines from his youth. Though most would say “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” during Christmas, for Seth, it was Halloween. His Halloween display began to bring the neighborhood together.
He is survived by his wife Nicole (Wells) Lay, his mother Dolores Lay, Mother-in-law Lynn Young-Bolden (Charles), sister-in-law Jaleesa Wells (Peter), his uncle Jerry Lay, and Clayton David, a special friend to the family. He has two very close friends whom he referred to as his brothers, Christopher Havens (Jenny) and Michael Egbers. He also had a host of friends throughout his lifetime.. He also had an Amazon family whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Lay, paternal grandparents James A. Lay and Nannie I. Lay, and maternal grandparents Lundy McKella Stacy and Katherine Marie Jones Stacy.
A Graveside Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Lay-Silcox Cemetery.
