New concession stand project is nearing completion at Scott High

The new concession stand project is nearing completion at Scott High School. The facility was built from the ground up by students in the school’s building trades classes, with the help of faculty and staff along the way. Students working on the project learned valuable hands-on skills, and they’ll be able to look at the concession stand at their alma mater for years to come knowing they helped make it come to life.
The facility is 1,920 square feet and features a fully equipped kitchen, spacious concession area, heat and air, and new bathroom facilities. With construction starting in April 2025, that phase of the project is now complete. At this point, the only remaining work to be done will be carried out by professionals who will set up the electricity. After working hard on site prep, the concrete foundation, sidewalk, drainage, rough framing, trusses, insulation, interior and exterior metal, interior and exterior doors, plumbing, ceilings, and cabinetry, the building trades teacher and students now hope that the new facility will be a source of pride to the community for years to come.
