Drew Walker claims championship band in Atlanta basketball camp
A local 8 grade middle school basketball player, Drew Walker spent the last week in Atlanta at Oglethorpe University in a Point Guard University basketball camp. They had classroom time, watched film and competed on the court. Drew played in the 9 to 11 grade teams with approximately 70 other male athletes from all over the country. His 4 member team consisted of Drew, a player from Nashville, Florida and South Africa. After a written exam, running a few miles around the campus and 250 push ups, sit ups and pull ups as a team, they competed on the court in 4 on 4 with the other teams. Some days were 15 to 16 hours long. They won the camp championship. What an amazing accomplishment for this young man to be able to represent our area as the only local player. Congratulations to Drew and his team for all their hard work and dedication to improve their skills and excel in the game that they love. Striving to better themselves and exposure to coaches across the USA. Drew is the son of Justin and Alison Walker, and some of his biggest fans are his brothers Blake and Ty Walker.
