Eugene “Mook” Paul
March 22, 1949 – June 22, 2025

Eugene “Mook” Paul age 76, departed this life on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born on March 22, 1949, to the late Hoyle Paul and Ruby Buttram Green. Mook was a graduate of Huntsville High School, where he was a member of the basketball and football team. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mook never missed a Scott High School game and an avid fan of the Highlanders. Mook was a member of the Oneida Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Son: Darek Paul; Brother: Eddie Paul; Step-dad: Raymond Green; Brothers-in-law: Maynard Cross, Leeroy Sexton, and Frank Wallace.
He is survived by his daughter: Shonda Paul; Sisters: Nella Faye Cross of Oneida, TN, Patricia Wallace of Caryville, Doris Kennedy and Everett Kennedy of Rocky Top, TN, Patsy Evans and Bill Evans of Knoxville, TN, and Wanda Sexton of Oneida, Tn; Brother: Ronnie Paul and Kathy Paul of Florida; Special friend: Margaret Bond; Special Brother: Glen Buttram, Special Son: Kevin Phillips; and many other special relatives, and friends to mourn his passing.
Special Care Givers: Judy Phillips, Zach Phillips, and Jennifer Penn.
Special thanks to all his VA Home Base Primary Care and Quality Home Health.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Oneida Church of God at 1100 Paint Rock Road, Oneida, Tennessee, 37841. With Bro. Daniel Buttram and Bro. Chuck Jeffers. Music will be provided by Alan Carson and Oneida Church of God Choir. Graveside services will follow in the Peaceful Rose Gardens in the Paint Rock Community with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.

Pallbearers will be Wayne McCulley, Chris Russsell, Jacob Phillips, Ken Mikeman, Dane Buttram, and Zach Phillips.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Brown, Glen Buttram, and Bill Hall.
