“Ah, LORD GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” (Jeremiah 32:17, NKJV)

By Rev Dale Lee
These are the recorded words of Jeremiah spoken to God about God. And what great words they are! Nothing so encourages our fearful hearts as confessing to God out loud what God tells us about Himself. But we have to teach ourselves to listen to God’s instructions. Jeremiah needed much encouragement. He had just purchased land that was about to fall into the hands of the invading Babylonians. Not a smart real estate purchase to say the least. But God told him too and after listening and obeying Jeremiah needed some encouragement. So he tells God what God has revealed about himself. Works every time. There is only one Person we can speak such words to, the LORD GOD. And truly there is nothing too hard for Him. There is no situation too difficult for God to solve in our lives. We get ourselves hung up in the briars far too often. God is our almighty help if we ask. There is no storm too severe for God to calm, no matter how violent and threatening. The LORD GOD is our almighty help if we ask. Hagar went and sat down across from her dying son Ishmael about a bow shot away. She said to her self, “Let me not see the death of the boy.” The Scriptures then tell us that “God heard the voice of the lad.” God then tells Hagar what He often tells us, “Fear Not,” for I have heard your voice. God is speaking that He is our almighty help, if we will ask. There is no sin so dark and perverted that God will not forgive us, His children. No true Christian would commit the unpardonable sin, that of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. The prodigal son, defiled, dirty, and stinking of hog (hawg), was hugged never so tightly by his overjoyed father. God is speaking to us and telling us He is our almighty help and Forgiver if we will ask. There is no spiritual oppression God cannot lift off His children. Acts 10:38 tells us that “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” Jesus is our almighty healer, our oppression-Lifter, if we will ask Him. There is nothing too hard for God, our Father. Author John Maxwell writes, “President Theodore Roosevelt was a man of action, but was also a good listener, and he appreciated that quality in other people. Once at a gala ball, he grew tired of meeting people who returned his remarks with stiff, mindless pleasantries. So he began to greet people with a smile saying, ‘I murdered my grandmother this morning.’ Most people, so nervous about meeting him, didn’t even hear what he said. But one diplomat did. Upon hearing the president’s remark, he leaned over and whispered to him, ‘I’m sure she had it coming to her!’” God is telling us again, if we can stop a moment and truly listen, “There is nothing too hard for Me.” Unbounded hope we have indeed.
