March 18, 1967 – April 5, 2025

Melissa Jean Cross Hawkins, age 58, departed this life on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at the Tennova North Medical Center in Powell, Tennessee. Born on March 18, 1967, in Ohio, she was the daughter of Deborah Cross and the late Gene Cross. She was saved at a young age and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, nana, daughter, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Cross; Grandparents: Reverend Virgil and Vercie Cross, Junior Leroy Koeller, Betty Minnich; 1) step-daughter: Samantha Leann Hawkins.
Along with her mother, Deborah Cross; She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Hawkins; Her children: Adam Byrge and wife Leshia, Brian Byrge, Lounicia Bolton, Felicia Lee and husband Kevin, and Crystal Hawkins; Special Grandchildren: Rylee Byrge, Nolan Allen, AJ Byrge, Gabe Byrge, Corbin West, Paisley Bolton, Clara Byrge and Leon Stephens, due in June; Siblings: Gene (Bud) Cross, Jr. and wife Mary-Ann, Sean Cross and wife Christy, Weigela (Jill) Harness and husband Leonard (Rowdy); Parents-in-law: Edward and wife Sue Hawkins, and Janet Taylor; Brother and Sister-in-laws: Greg Meadows, Frank Hawkins, and Terea Hawkins; Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville from 11:00 A.M until time of funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Dudley Harness and Bro. Jerry Byrge officiating. Music will be provided by Leshia and Marilyn Byrge and Leshia Martin. Burial will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Allen, AJ Byrge, Gabe Byrge, Robbie Byrd, Trey Coley, River Porter, and Hershel Stephens.
