“Thy Kingdom come…” (Matthew 6:10, KJV) (Part 2)
God’s kingdom never began. It is. God’s kingdom will never cease. It is. It is here on earth now in a mystery form. It is coming in the future in full, glorious manifestation. Jesus tells us that this future kingdom was the reason for creation: “Then the king will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed on My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matthew 25:34) Evidently God purposed the kingdom reign of Christ from the foundation of the world. This means God would create two essentials for this kingdom: land and people. Thus we see the history long struggle over the holy land and the never ending diabolical intention to exterminate the Jewish people. Now we are getting a better view on the purpose of history as God intends it. In an excellent book just published in 2024, “One Jewish State” by former United States Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, twenty-five nations located in or around the Middle East officially name Islam as their state religion. Several others are Muslim without officially declaring themselves to be so, such as Syria and Lebanon. Islam unequivocally calls for the destruction of the “infidels,” all who do not adhere to Islam. Only one nation, Israel, has survived as the land God promised to Abraham. (Genesis 12:7; 15:7,18;17:8) Only one people on earth, the Jews, are considered to be a nation, a state, and a religion inhabiting their God given land. No other nation can make such a claim. Israel will be the place where the final battles on earth occur as Jesus destroys the Antichrist and inaugurates the very kingdom He instructs us to pray for. Every Christian alive today has been given the glorious privilege of praying for the coming of the kingdom of God. No prayer can be any nearer to God’s heart than the enthronement and exaltation and world-wide adoration of His beloved Son, the Son Who paid it all.
