Margaret Ann (Weaver) Smithers

December 4, 1942  – January 10, 2025

On Friday, January 10, 2025, Margaret Ann (Weaver) Smithers, 82 years young, was called to Heaven. Margaret is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arvial (Jack) Smithers, son David Smithers (Marisa); daughter Deborah O’Toole (Tim), grandchildren Wesley and Nathan Smithers, Shannon and Hannah O’Toole, brothers Byron Weaver (Corina) and Kenneth Weaver, cousins James Smith (Melba) and Dorothy Ries (Russell).

Margaret was born on December 4, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating high school she attended and graduated business college. Shortly after graduation she worked at Ft. Sam Houston where she met the love of her life, Anrial (Jack) Smithers, and they married on February 8, 1964. She volunteered and worked in the school system until starting her career in Civil Service as a secretary for 30 years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her two Grandsons in Texas and traveling to Colorado to spend time with her two Granddaughters who will all miss her tremendously.

Margaret had many hobbies over her lifetime to include sewing, square dancing, bowling, photography, playing rummy and singing Karaoke. She served in her community with the David Crockett Grange and made many friends in this organization. She also traveled to different states annually to the National Grange Convention with her husband Jack the State Grange. President and she a the “First Lady” of the Texas State Grange.

Her humor, her ·singing, and her smile will forever remain in our hearts. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Her desire was to be cremated. Arival will bring her remains for a graveside service in The Harness Cemetery in Mountain View on May 31, 2025 at 1 p.m.
