Lois Ann Bowling-Slaven, age 69, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 13th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Scott County on July 18th, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Ules Bowling and the late Ervil Harness-Bowling. She was a member of Scott High School’s class of 1973. Lois accepted Jesus as her savior as a young girl and rededicated her life to the Lord when she became a member at High Point United Baptist Church. Lois loved to sing songs to the Lord, play the piano and guitar in church. Lois attended church faithfully until her health deteriorated. Lois loved to crochet, knit, garden, and read in her spare time. She also enjoyed going to Quest – where she made many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brothers: LC Bowling, Nicky Ules Bowling; sisters: Fonda Bowling, Pauline Pierce; mother and father-in-law: Alta and Ernest Slaven; sisters-in-law: Johnnie Ruth Slaven, Debra Jean Slaven; brothers-in-law: Harlin Slaven, Bob Austin, Steve Pierce, and Virgil Jeffers; two grandchildren: Joshua and Caleb Flint; nephew: Clint Slaven; great-nephew: Caleb Smithers; great-niece: Keri Smithers.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 52 years: William Doyle Slaven of Oneida, Tennessee; daughters: Tonia Owens and her husband Scott of Nashville, Tennessee; Felicia Flint and husband Mickey of Oneida Tennessee; grandchildren: Jacob Flint, Andrew Flint and wife Jenna, Macaiah Burns and husband Jacob, Hailey Owens and Jacob Seltenright; great-grandchildren: Arlie Kate Flint and Sutton Burns; special niece: Shanna Hatfield and husband Bill, whom she loved like her own children. She also loved Shanna’s children: Colton, Nick, Analeigh, and Levi like her own grandchildren. Sister: Wilma Austin of Helenwood, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Dean Lee and husband Lloyd Lee of Helenwood, Tennessee; brothers: Clois and wife Judy of Jacksboro, Tennessee and Tim Bowling of Oneida, Tennessee; brother-in-law: Earl Slaven of La Vergne, TN. Special friends Hope & Andrea Porter and Debby Butler. Her family at Quest and many other special relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Jamie Byrd and Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. Music to be provided by the Mill Branch Church Choir. Burial to follow in the Bull Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Flint, Andrew Flint, Jacob Flint, Scott Owens, Bill Hatfield, Colton Hatfield, Nick Hatfield, Levi Hatfield, Jacob Burns, and Jacob Seltenright.
