SSGT, Randy Sauls
Randy Sauls was born in Scott County on December 24, 1969 and is the son of Don and Maggie Sauls. Randy Sauls grew up in Winfield, Tennessee and joined the National Guard at the age of 17, his parents signed for him to join and enlisted on January 11, 1987.
During the time that Randy joined the military it was low on soldiers and the Marines needed some support, so he got ready and went to Iraq to fight in the War. SSGT. Sauls was deployed to Iraq in 2004.
SSGT. Randy Sauls was deployed with the 278th Armored Cavalry in the engagement called Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also deployed to many other countries like Saudi Arabia, Iceland and Germany.
Randy was in Jraq for a long time while he served in many missions he was an E6 or Staff Sergeant. SSGT. Randy Sauls’ deployment to Iraq ended in 2005 and he came out of the war without any injuries and is proud of the time that he s_erved his country.
