Knowing God
By Rev Dale Lee

Rev Dale Lee
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.” (Hebrews 2:5, KJV)
Please pause a moment and consider the phrase “the world to come.” Whether we acknowledge it or not, we are rapidly moving ever toward this “world to come.” What do we know about it, this world that God has put in subjection, not to angels, but to the Lord Jesus Christ?
For those who live only for this world, indulging constantly in its pleasures, ignoring the merciful appeals of God to repent, the approaching world, when thought of at all, must be frightening. Queen Elizabeth (1533-1603) declared “All my possessions for a moment of time.” Another has asked if it is possible to kill time without injuring eternity? There is a world to come. Do you ever think about it? It is probably difficult for many to think about the world to come during football season.
Pastor Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) has written: “This world is not our abiding place. Our continuance here is but very short. Man’s days on earth are as a shadow. It was never designed by God that this world should be our home. God has made us for himself.”
The present age is evil, ruled by a malicious, blood-thirsty, dark spirit known as Satan. (Galatians 1:4) Jesus defeated him and thus secured for us “the world to come” which will be ruled by Him. A world of purity, love, righteousness, goodness, abundance and peace is coming for those who reject all satanic delicacies and follow the Master into His golden age.
We should ever praise our Great God for the world to come. Any of us may enter it at any time. So we should think about it a lot more. Amen.
