Frances Louise Grooms, age 78, departed this life on August 31, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 4, 1946, in Scott County, TN, to the late Claude and Vickie (Terry) Reed. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, and friend who was loved by all. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower garden, and gardening. She loved camping the beach and was always ready for the next adventure. She was a member of the Helenwood Baptist Church and treasured her friends and family at New River Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by infant grandson: Eli Grooms; Brother: Jimmy Ray Lawson; Father and Mother-in-Law: Fred and Eva Grooms; Brother-in-Law: Bob Grooms
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Edward Grooms of Helenwood, TN; Daughter Tammy Ellis and husband Ronnie of Oneida, TN; Son: Johnny Grooms and wife Hope of Helenwood, TN; Son by heart: Eddy Wyatt of Spartanburg, SC; Granddaughters: Makayla Whaley and husband Trey of Oneida, TN; Ellie and Rayleigh Grooms of Helenwood, TN; Great Grandson: Cohen Whaley of Oneida, TN; Nephew: Scott Lawson of Winfield, TN; Cousin by blood but sister by heart: Sheila Ipock of Helenwood, TN: Brother-in-Law Bill Grooms and wife Aleta of Sacramento, CA.
Special Friends: Lisa Russ, Betty Strunk, and (The late) Faye Bayles
She loved traveling with her husband and completed their bucket list of visiting all 50 states. Their traveling buddies included: David and Brenda West; Danny and Sarah Cross; Becky West (late) Frank West.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Thompson Medical Clinic & Quality Hospice Care staff, Brenda Smith and Renee Gaddes.

The family will receive friends at Helenwood Baptist Church, 235 Main Street Helenwood, Tn. 37755 on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 5 p.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 7 p.m. with Bro. David Walker and Bro. David Barnhouse officiating. Music will be provided by Brenda West, Lloyd and Arnold Stephens. Graveside Service will follow on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 12:00 noon at The Daniel Memorial Cemetery.
