Patricia KiddOctober 26, 1955 -December 1, 2023

Patricia Lee Sauls Kidd, age 68, of West Oneida passed away suddenly on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center. Patricia was born in Scott County, TN on Oc-tober 26, 1955, to the late Eva Sauls and William Evans. She was a beloved wife, mother, and nanny. Patricia was a member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Patricia loved her family with her entire being but took additional joy from her two grandchildren who became the center of her universe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Aunton and Hester Miller Kidd. Three brothers-in-law: Kelly Kidd, Billy Perkins, and Earl “Buddy” Yates. Three sisters-in-law, Judy Kidd, Diane Robbins, Joyce Munoz. Two nephews, Tracey Perkins and Billy Earl Perkins. Patricia is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bradley Kidd. One daughter, April Pender-grass and husband Travis. One son, Bradley Kidd Jr; two grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Easton Pen-dergrass and Harper Pendergrass; sister, Brenda Perkins, sisters-in-law, Georgia Yates, Martha Kidd, and Pearl Kidd; brothers-in-law Coy Kidd and Doyal Kidd, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.Friends may visit with the Kidd family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 12 pm (noon) until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Reynold and Bro. Crestin Burke offi ciating. Music will be provided by Jacob Burke. Committal service will follow in the Miller Cemetery in the Leatherwood community. Pallbearers will be: Drew Robbins, Caleb Munoz-Williams, Ashley Kidd, Aaron Kidd, Paul Doyle Kidd, Collin Kidd, other family members and friends.

 

Charles “Sonny” BurkeJanuary 24, 1948 – November 29, 2023

Mr. Charles Ester Burke of Oneida, Tennessee, age 75, departed this life on November 29, 2023, at St Joseph’s Hospital in London, Kentucky. He was born on January 24, 1948, in Onei-da, TN to the late Ester and Dorothy Burke. His family moved to Greenville, Mississippi following his father’s passing where he was raised and returned to Oneida after his retirement. He is survived by his two sons, William E. “Bill” Burke (Sandy) of Marks, Mississippi, and Robert W. “Bob” Burke (Kellie) of Clarksdale, Mississippi. 4 Grandchildren: Samantha D. Burke of Charleston, Missis-sippi, Logan W. Burke of Marks Mississippi, Graydon A. Burke, and Ella L. Burke both of Clarksdale, Mississippi. 1 great-granddaughter, Emery D. Fillyaw of Charleston, Mississippi, 3 sisters: Mona (Baxter) Harris of Green-wood, Mississippi, Patricia Smallwood (Robert) of Onei-da, Tennessee, and Barbara (Roger) Massey of Greenville, Mississippi, 1 brother: David Burke (Linda) of Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and many other friends and relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, 1 son Charles Daniel Burke, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday December 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services to begin at 12 noon, in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida. Burial to follow at the West Family Cemetery in Station Camp Community, Oneida, TN. Family and Friends will be pallbearers with special honorary pallbearers Baxter Harris and Norman Lee Burke.

 

Curtis Lonzo PhillipsOctober 6, 1948 -November 24, 2023

Curtis Lonzo Phillips age 75, of Huntsville, TN, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born October 6, 1948, Curtis was the son of the late Odus and Vera Jean Jeffers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons: Michael S. Phillips, and Christopher B. Phillips. Curtis is survived by his wife: Carol Smith Phillips; daughter: Kim Harness and husband Jackie; son: Jeffery Phillips and wife Hattie; his mother; Jean San-difer; special grandchildren: Jayce Phillips and Oaklynn Phillips and many other grandchildren, great-grandchil-dren, and other family and friends. Friends may visit with the Phillips family on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

 

Derek Wade ByrdJuly 26, 1990 -November 28, 2023

Derek Wade Byrd, age 33, of Huntsville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born on July 26, 1990, Derek was the son of Warren L. and Zelda England Byrd. Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents: Odeva and Faye Byrd and Mary Allean Reed England; great-grandparents: Zeldrie Reed, Sylvania Tramel Reed and Mertie Adkins; uncles: David Wayne Byrd and Mike England; fi rst cousin: John Donald England. In addition to his parents he is survived by his one son: Jaxson David Byrd; one brother: Darren Byrd; fi rst cousins: Ginger Styles, Michaela England Jackson and husband Melvin, Eddie Honeycutt, Jr., Johhny Mac Gaylor and wife Morgan, Aaron Gaylor and wife Jaz-mine, Josh Byrd and wife Ashlee, Matthew Anderson, Craig Anderson and Nicholas Byrd; aunts: Lisa Byrd, Cathi England Gaylor and husband Jim, Derita Long and husband Johnny; uncle: Edward Honeycutt, Sr.; special friends: Cole Lowe, Shawn Cotton, Chris Allen, and Frankie Shoopman and family; and second cousin: Mae Lynn Gaylor. Derek’s wishes were cremation. The family will announce a Memorial graveside service at a later date.
