A New Chapter for SCN
Change is inevitable. Some have said it is the only constant in our lives. If that’s true, then perhaps it’s fitting that Scott County News – an institution that has chronicled change for more than a century –would embrace a little of its own.
So, it’s time for us to make an announcement. SCN has decided to turn the page and begin a new chapter. We will be closing our current office and relocating to a new space. Our new home will be at 18730 Alberta Street, in the former location of The Eye Center.
For 110 years, SCN has been a steady presence in this community. We’ve helped you mark milestones, reported the hard truths, celebrated victories, and helped you to preserve the everyday moments that make Scott County special. That role and dedication does not change with an address. Not for any of us.
While the walls around us may look different, our mission remains very much the same. Led by our owner and publisher, Ruthie Mullett, we are still committed to telling your stories, asking the necessary questions you demand, and serving as a reliable source for local news – from crash to crime and love to landfill. We pride ourselves on that and hope you stick with us during this newest transition.
Know that in many ways, this move is not about leaving something behind, but about positioning ourselves for what comes next for SCN and for you. In fact, if you’re not already subscriber, now would be the perfect time. Start new with us and help us make a change!
Just know that we’re grateful for the support you’ve shown us over the years, and we look forward to continuing our conversation.
