Thursday, February 12th – Crafts at 1 p.m. Walking Program, Puzzles/Games, Massage Chairs.
Friday, February 13th – Walking Program, Puzzles/Games, Massage Chairs.
SAI will be able to provide lunch to Seniors age 60 and over at no cost. These meals will be prepared by a chef in Knoxville and reheated at SAI. Lunch will be served at 12pm Monday-Friday.
If you would like to participate or would like more information please call SAI at 423-663-9300. We are thankful to be able to partner with ETHRA to bring this service to our Seniors in Scott County.
Family Support Program
If you or an immediate family member has a severe, lifelong disability, you may be eligible to receive services from the Family Support.
Open Enrollment for the 2026 fiscal year is now.
Family Support is a grant program designed and funded by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) to assist a person living independently, or families caring for a relative who has a severe disability. Severe disability is defined as:
• Attributable to a developmental or physical impairment
• Likely to continue indefinitely
• Result in substantial functional limitations in three or more of the following major life activities: Self-care, Receptive/Expressive language, Learning, Mobility, Self-direction, Capacity for independent living, Economic self-sufficiency.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Funding is provided to assist with services such as:
• Purchasing and maintaining assistive/adaptive equipment
• Health care costs and medication not covered by insurance
• Respite care/childcare/adult day care
• Personal or attendant services
• Vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Homemaker services
• Therapies and counseling
• Specialized nutrition needs
• Home modifications for homeowners
• Recreation and summer camp
Gather required Documents:
Proof of Disability (clearly stated diagnosis from physician or school records) |
Proof of Residency (current utility bill, this can be in the family’s name)
Proof of Citizenship (copy of official birth certificate or proof of qualified alien status)
Copy of Social Security Card
