Judith Ann Kearns Massey, 81, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Huntsville, Scott County, Tennessee. Born on May 10, 1944, in Altrincham, Cheshire, England, Judith grew up in Altrincham and remained there until 1964, when she journeyed to the United States as a 19-year-old. She embraced her new life wholeheartedly and was proud to become an American citizen on January 24, 1985.
Judith lived a life of service, was a woman of deep faith, and a devoted disciple of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully as president of the women’s organization for over 25 years, a Gospel Doctrine Sunday School teacher, served as a choir director and music coordinator.
Together with her husband Basil Massey, served as assistant managers of the LDS Bishop Storehouse, a local food assistance program. Her faithful service reflected her love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and blessed countless individuals and families.
Judith loved traveling, touring on motorcycles, working on family history and being with her family—passions that brought her joy, adventure, and meaningful connections.
A skilled and dedicated bookkeeper, Judith worked for Mack Trucks in Oregon before later retiring from the Huntsville Utility District in Tennessee.
While living in Oregon, Judith met her eternal companion, Basil Massey in 1985. When Basil returned to Tennessee to be near his parents, Judith followed him, a testament to the love and commitment that defined their relationship. They were married on March 26, 1987, beginning a devoted and joyful partnership that lasted the rest of her life.
She was the cherished daughter of Cecil Kearns and Joan Mary Winnington, both of whom preceded her in death.
Judith is survived by her beloved husband, Basil Massey of Huntsville, Tennessee and her two younger siblings, Lesley Ellis of Surprise, Arizona (Kenneth) and Philip Kearns (Shelley) of Salt Lake, Utah.
She is also survived by her two sons, Mitchell Speck of Sandy, Oregon and Eric Speck (Sheila), of Madisonville, Tennessee.
She is additionally survived by her stepchildren, Lisa Reid (Chris) of Hurricane, Utah, Loralee Morgan (Bruce) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wendy Farr (Joe) of Huntsville, Utah, Aimee McNeil (Brett), of Nibley, Utah.
Judith leaves behind a large and loving posterity. She is survived by her grandchildren:
Hayden Speck, Jessica Bennett (Tom), Katie Speck, Jakob Reid, Colt Reid, Sierra Corbridge (Tyler), Paige Thornley(Brock), Tucker Reid, Tyler Morgan, Chad Morgan (Morgan), Mekena Biesinger (Tasman), Katelyn Morgan, Katie King (Joshua), Jonathon Farr (Jessica), Tayler Forrest (Matthew), Brenden Farr, Cameren Farr, Rachel McNeil, Aaron McNeil (Trisha), Emilee Fullmer (Jayce), Sarah McNeil, and 25 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Amanda Hunt.
Judith was courageous, adventurous, steadfast and beautiful example of Christ like love and commitment. Those who knew Judith will remember her gentle spirit, her thoughtful nature, her devotion to service, and the kindness she extended to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all whose lives were brightened by her presence.
Her legacy lives on in the love she shared, the service she rendered, and the memories she leaves behind.

The Visitation for family and friends of Judith will be at Four Oaks Funeral Home, 2889 Baker Hwy, Huntsville, TN Monday November 24th from Noon till 2pm. The Memorial Service will start at 2pm followed by a Graveside Internment Service at Fairview Cemetery 8939 Baker Hwy, Huntsville TN.
