George Edward Walker, age 67 departed this life on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was born on August 31, 1958 to the late Leon and Dillis Asher Walker. He was a member of Slick Rock Missionary Baptist Church. His greatest enjoyment in life was being with his grandchildren and family. George’s grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Father and Mother-in-law: Ernest and Glena Griffith; Sister-in-law: Clois Foster; Brother-in-law: Glenn Shepard; Nephew: Jason Bowling; Great-Niece: Kayla Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years: Betty Walker; Children: Justin Walker and wife Alison, Jordan Walker and wife Laura; Grandchildren: Drew, McKinley, Blake, Gunter, and Ty Walker; Sister: Leshia Martin and husband Craig; Sister-in-law: Ernestine Bowling, Patricia and husband Elmer Hamblin, Barbara Shepard; Brother-in-law: Dennis Foster; Nieces: Michelle Hall, Ginger Snell and husband Thomas; Nephews: Sterling Foster and wife Karen, Derek Shepard and wife Sarah, Anthony Bowling and wife Kendra, and Eric Shepard.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. David Walker and Bro. Stevie Laxton officiating. Music to be provided by Bro. David Walker. Graveside services will held be on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Slick Rock Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Walker, Jordan Walker, Drew Walker, Derek Shepard, Eric Shepard, Sterling Foster, Thomas Snell, Craig Martin, and Anthony Bowling
Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake Walker, Ty Walker, McKinley Walker, Gunter Walker, and Lloyd King.
