The Oneida City Park looks to host the Scott County Health Fair on Saturday, March 28, 2026, which will see multiple agencies join forces to promote improvements and offer services across the area.
“We are hosting a resource fair to connect the community with the valuable services and resources available right here in our local area,” Virginia Bruce, Oneida’s Community Development Coordinator, told SCN last week.
The event will be open to the general public from 10AM to 3PM on the scheduled day. Participants are expected to include St. Mary’s Clinic, a traveling medical service and part of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee that offers people without medical insurance primary care services.
“We’ll be set up and ready to meet you, answer questions, and share more about the services we provide,” St. Mary’s said in a statement. “We hope you’ll stop by our table, say hello, and learn more about how we’re serving our community.”
Others scheduled, according to Bruce, are Second Harvest, who has traditionally established a presence for food support in Scott County and serves as a leader in the region’s mission to fight hunger; the UT Medical Mammogram bus, as well as the Ridgeview Bus with more resources anticipated to be set up in the park’s gym.
These developments come as the park has changed their reservation system, with the town saying booking a space should be much easier.
“You can now reserve our gazebos, gym, and kitchen online through RecDesk,” the town said. RecDesk, a fully digital cloud-based recreation management software that’s designed to streamline operations for parks and recreational areas that allows interested parties to book and pay directly online athttps://oneidatn.recdesk.com/Community/Home. ;The rental portal can also be accessed through the Town of Oneida website at www.townofoneida.com.
“It’s simple, convenient, and available anytime,” the town announced. “We’re excited to make things easier for our community.”
