Stanley Lay
April 18, 1960 – February 13, 2026
Stanley Lay age 65, departed this life unexpectedly, yet peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Tennova Turkey Creek. He was beloved son of Wendell and Gladys Lay of Scott County, Tennessee. Stanley loved working on cars and was a skilled mechanic. He worked many years at Home Depot in the home and garden department. He had a passion for wrestling and loved watching it, talking about it and practicing it on his son and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 20 plus years and mother of his children: Rita Kay Cross Lay.
Left to cherish his memory is his Brother: Mike Lay (Kathy); very special girlfriend: Deborah and her daughters and granddaughters; Children: Shaun Lay (Christina), Rhonda Lay, Johnathon Lay; Nieces and Nephews: Jennifer Harrison (Andrew), Michael Lay (Rachel), Anthony Strunk, Ben Strunk, Angela Ellis (Chris), Christy Hewitt (Greg), Danny West; Grandchildren: Aaron Lawson (Kaylee), Madison Lawson (Taylor), Sammy Owens (Haylee); Special granddaughter: Arianna; He leaves behind several other great nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Pastor Rusty Sharp officiating. Music will be provided by family. Burial will follow in the Allred Cemetery of the Pioneer Community.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Strunk, Ben Strunk, Aaron Lawson, Samuel Owens, Michael Lay, and Andrew Harrison.
