Car Show Draws Crowd for Winfield Department

By Jodi Bond
The Winfield Volunteer Fire Department hosted its 8th Annual Car Show on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Winfield City Hall, drawing a strong crowd despite sharing the weekend with the popular 27 Yard Sale.
A department spokesman, Adam Shinkle, said they were pleased with the turnout and deeply appreciate the ongoing support from the community.
The People’s Choice Award went to Bill Porteous for his beautifully restored 1928 Ford, a crowd favorite that drew admiration from attendees of all ages.
In addition to the car show, several prize drawings were held. A Silent Auction was held, thanks to the generous donations of several local businesses. The dirt bike giveaway was popular, and was won by Donna Lee. Lastly, the 50/50 Award went to James Taylor, who generously donated his winnings back to the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Adam Shinkle continued by saying that events like this keep the department going and allow the fire department to better serve the community. “We’re grateful for everyone who came out, participated, or stopped by to show their support “ Mr. Shinkle added.
