Deputies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received training from the Sexual Assault Response Team at Scott Appalachian Industries.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Kate Lowe instructed on the elements of response to sexual assault, along with providing several skills including: how to provide trauma informed support, discussing social factors surrounding sexual violence, and common reactions to trauma and recognizing important time frames for rape kit completion.
This training will assist deputies in providing timely Trauma Informed Care to all victims of sexual assault. The SCSO thanks Scott Appalachian Industries’ Sexual Assault Response Team for providing this vital training to allow us to better assist our community.
