George Phillips
August 30, 1937 – May 20, 2025

George Henderson Phillips age 87, departed this life on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1937 to the late Bart Lindsey Phillips and R. Gussie Robbins Phillips/Lowe. He loved hunting fishing gardening, playing guitar and was a skilled wood worker. He was loving father, Poppa G, and Grandpa George. George will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: George Gary Phillips; and several brothers & sisters.
George is survived by his daughter: Lynn Phillips; Son: Jeffery Phillips and wife Deanne; grandchildren: Crystal Farnsworth, Stephen Jackson, Sara Jackson, Amanda Cornett and her husband James Cornett, Mary Lovell, Angela Lovell, Vanessa and husband David Sutherland, Lydea and husband Brian Nichols, Nolan Phillips and wife Tasha, Derek Phillips; followed by his great grandchildren: Samantha Cornett, Steven Cornett, Lillian Cornett, Ethan Sutherland, Hannah Sutherland, Liam Nichols, Owen Nichols, Brynson Phillips, Aubreeana Phillips and Decklin Phillips; Brother: Luther “LB” Phillips and wife Alice; several other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music provided by grandkids. Burial to follow in the Antioch Cemetery in the Norma Community.
Pallbearers will be family.
