EAST TENNESSEE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
HOLIDAY GRANT OPPORTUNITY
Knoxville – The East Tennessee Foundation (“ETF” or the “Foundation”), a 501(c)(3) public charity and nationally accredited community foundation focused on serving a 25-county region in East Tennessee, today announced a holiday season grant opportunity for 10 counties in its service area.
Designed to support organizations providing gifts during the holiday season to underserved children, ETF’s Laura J. Kress Angel Tree Fund is now accepting applications for the 2024 grant cycle.
“The Laura J. Kress Angel Tree Fund exemplifies the profound impact that donors can have on communities, and we are deeply grateful for our donors’ continued support of this special fund. The East Tennessee Foundation is pleased to extend their generosity through this opportunity to help make holiday wishes come true for children and families throughout the region,” said ETF President & CEO Keith Barber. “We look forward to supporting other caring organizations across East Tennessee to not only spread holiday cheer, but also ensure that children in our community can experience the magic of the season, regardless of their circumstance.”
Organizations including 501(c)(3) public charities, units of government, public educational institutions, or houses of worship proposing projects which provide gifts to underserved and under-resourced children in Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Morgan, Scott, or Union counties are welcome to apply.
“The Laura J. Kress Angel Tree Fund was established at ETF in 2019 in honor and in memory of Laura J. Kress, founder of The Angel Tree. Though their organization has closed, their mission continues through grants made possible by this fund,” said Ashley Siferd Butler, ETF Director of Competitive Grants. “It is an honor to carry out Laura’s legacy and lifelong passion by following in her footsteps to provide gifts to children in-need during the holiday season.”
Applications must be submitted through ETF’s online grant management system no later than September 13, 2024, by 7 p.m. Eastern to be eligible for funding consideration. Grant awards will primarily range from $2,000 to $10,000 and will be awarded in early November to support the upcoming holiday season.
