May 7, 1960 ~ August 29, 2023 (age 63) Mrs. Mona K. (Jones) Lowe, born May 7, 1960. Passed over Tuesday, August 29, 2023, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was saved by Grace on October 30, 1976, and was a member ofNicks Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Lowe was an avid reader of the Bible, which she studied and read every day. She enjoyed cooking, which she was famous for her homemade peanut butter fudge. She enjoyed life to the fullest; loved her friends, family, and neighbors. Mrs. Mona was preceded in death by loving parents: Mr. Ralph and Mrs. Mona Cloeva (Bertram) Jones; brother: Ralph Timothy Jones; special grandparents: Mr. Albert H. and Stella Clouse Bertram, Mr. Doc and Mrs. Minnie Shepard Jones; special nephew: infant Milford L. (Bubby) Jones; special cousin: Sherrie Lea Bertram; brother-in-law: David P. Bell, Haskel Stewart; uncles: Windle Bertram, Ray Tilson, Rufus jones and wife Auda Mae Jones. Mrs. Mona is survived by her loving husband and best friend: Arthur David Lowe of 28 years; brother: Mike and wife Sherry Jones and Milford and Rena Jones. She is also survived by her sister: Denita Stewart and friend: Millard Riseden. Mrs. Lowe is also survived by special family: Mark, Dara, Lydia, Jerah, Job, and George Kline; Mrs. Lowe’s special Guardian Angel: Dara Kline and special friends (Bestie) Trina and Rick Terry; special nephews: Greg Bell, Timothy Jones, Arvil L. Bell, and Tyler Jones; great nieces and nephews: Praylee, Kendra and David Bell; uncles: Charles and wife Lois Bertram and Junior Bertram; aunt: Janette Tilson. A special thank you to FNP Jackie Wilson Sharp of Mountain People’s Norma Clinic, Thompson Oncology Group in Oakridge, and Covenant Hospice of Knoxville, TN. Also, a special thank you toRev. Ledford Byrd and Ada Byrd for the music, and Linda and Marcie for doing hair, make-up, and nails. Friends may visit with the Lowe family on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ledford Byrd. Music will be provided by Ada Byrd. Committal service will follow in the Litton Cemetery in Oneida, TN Pallbearers will be: Charles Bertram, Wayne Bertram, Mike Jones, Mark Kline, Job Kline and Sherwood Hembree. He was born on November 16, 1976. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, roofing, family time & his lodge family. He was member of the Bull Creek Baptist Church. He worked many years on roofing projects with his Daddy, Brother, & Extended Family. He was a member of the Robbins, Tennessee Masonic Lodge #670. He was preceded in death by his mother: Ruby Harness Massengale; Grandparents: Levi & Pauline Masssengale, & Roosevelt & Ethel Harness, a special uncle: Roy Massengale; Father-in-law: Junior Goodman. He was survived by his Father: J.R. Massengale & wife Davona; Son: Tyler (Megan) Daugh-ters: Sara (Ashley), Pauline Brooke, & Katie Faith Massengale; He had three special grandkids: Levi, Kyson, & Jonah Massengale; Brother: Michael Massengale & Sharon; Sister: Jeanie Martin (Shane); The mother of his kids: Donna Massengale; Mother-in-law: Nelda Goodman; Special friends: Jamie Bond, Chris Harness, Tim Phillips, and many more relatives & friends from his lodge family. He was the son of the late Ewell Crabtree & Minerva Byrd Crabtree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Judith Ann Crabtree; Daughters: Katherine Sue Lowe, & Frances Mae Harness; Sisters: Ruth, Mabel, Edith, Opal, & Margaret; Brother-in-law: Tony, Hal, & Billy Don; Sons-in-law: Marshall Lowe, & Fenley Harness. July 15, 1944 ~ August 31, 2023 (age 79) Mr. Carl Ray Short, age 79, of Cumberland Gap, TN was born July 15, 1944 and passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the Claiborne Medical Center. Carl left us with the testimony of salvation when he got his ultimate healing on Thursday evening. As the Bible says, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Carl loved fishing and being outdoors. He worked so hard to provide for his family and was alwayshappy to tell others about his family, especially his grandkids. No matter where Carl went and who he was talking to, the grandkids were mentioned almost immediately. They were truly the apple of his eye. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Charles and Ruby Short, sister; Linda Hazelwood. He is survived by his wife; Brenda Short, son; Kyle Short and wife Roxanna, grandson; Chad Hutson and wife Frannie, great grandchildren; Alaina, Elisha and Elleigh, siblings; Randle Short (Joyce), DeVauda Mullins (Dana), Ruby Parker (James), Wanda Shackleford, Bartie Sampson (WK) and Roberta Arnett. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at a later date. Shirley Jean Crabtree July 25, 1942 ~ September 3, 2023 Shirley Jean Crabtree, age 81 of Winfield, TN passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her home in Winfield, TN. Born on July 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Sauls and Thelma Cross Sauls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her hus-band, Ernest L. Crabtree; daughter, Kimberly Ann Crabtree Green Morgan; son, Marvin Lee Crabtree; brothers, Roger Sauls, Roy Sauls, Don Sauls; sisters, Rose Duncan and Chris Hicks; and great grandson, Brenden Stephens. Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael Crabtree and wife Sandy, Gary Crabtreeand wife Tammy, Tim Crabtree and wife Mary; sister, Beulah Griffith; grandkids, Marlena Duncan, Tony Green, TJ Green, Brandon Green, Daniel Green, Lashai Daugherty, Amanda Hosch, Joe Crabtree, Breann Crabtree, Jake Honeycutt, Kevon Honeycutt, Josh Honeycutt, Nikki Crabtree, Sydney Crabtree, and Abbie Crabtree; 33 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 12 p.m. in the Cross Cemetery in Winfield with Bro. Payton Slaven officiating. Grandkids will serve as pallbearers.
