Geneva Lloyd
January 5, 1940 ~ July 3, 2026
Geneva (Brown) Lloyd, age 86 of the Cherry Fork Community in Helenwood, TN passed away on July 3, 2026, at her home. Born in Scott County on January 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Sexton) Brown.
Geneva retired as a schoolteacher, serving as a school pathologist for Oneida Special School District for 16 years. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree from Tennessee Technology University.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: J.C. Lloyd of Helenwood; son: Rick Lloyd; daughter-in-law: Brenda Lloyd, both from Nashville, TN; sister: Virginia and James Smith; grandparents: William (Bill) and Rebecca (York) Brown and Jasper and Nellie (Jeffers) Sexton.
Geneva was a longtime member of the Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She is survived by her son: Steve Lloyd and wife Tina of Oneida: sister: Janice Cross of Clinton, TN: two grandsons: Joshua and Seth Lloyd both of Nashville, TN: niece: Karen (Thad) Phillips of Knoxville, TN; many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The Lloyd family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers and friends Ada Byrd, Cathy Terry, whom she enjoyed Sunday evenings and meals with. Also, Tommy Massengale who blessed her with a meal every week.
Friends may visit with the Lloyd family on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Lawson and Bro. Ledford Byrd officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Sewell.
Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, TN. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family of Ms. Geneva Lloyd.
