The Highlander faithful came out in full force for the UCB Bowl Friday under the school’s new jumbotron, amping the crowd into a steady frenzy. The game, however, left social media buzzing after Scott High won the season opener against McCreary Central with both sides seeing the outcome a bit different. With what McCreary Central saw as a controversial changed call in the closing seconds, the Highlanders pulled out the win 15-14 over the Raiders.
The hero the game may have been Quarterback Gage Privett, whose father, defensive coordinator Eric Privett, is McCreary Central’s former coach. Gage Privett’s scramble to the end zone in the closing moments, became the Highlander’s game winning touchdown.
