Billy Ray Silcox
January 16, 1943 – January 31, 2025

Billy Ray Silcox age 82, of Norma, departed this life peacefully at his home on Thursday night January 31, 2025. He was the son of the late Johnny Silcox and Lucille Silcox. Billy celebrated his 82nd birthday on January 16th. He was a member of the Jake’s Branch Baptist Church.
Billy served in the US Army for 3 years, stationed in Germany for 26 months. When he returned from Germany and was released from the Army, he married Thelma Lawson and together they moved to Northern VA to live and work for the next 42 years. When they moved back to TN, after retirement, Billy worked with First District Sr. Citizens delivering meals. Billy was a member of Springfield Masonic Lodge #216, A.F. & A.M., Springfield, Virginia, serving as a 32nd Degree Mason, and also a proud member of the Shriners.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Roger Silcox, father and mother-in-law Mitchell and Autha Lawson.
Billy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Thelma Lawson Silcox, sister-in-law Carol Sue Silcox, cousin Tomalee Fraley both of Jacksboro, TN. Brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lawson and wife Tammy, Benton Lawson, Howard Lawson and wife June. Sisters-in-law Wilma Jeffers and husband Claud all of the Norma Community, Barbara Jackson and husband Tim of Farmersville, Ohio. Special nieces and nephews, Katy Ott, Derek Lawson, Pam Schilke, Michelle Massengale, Aaron Lawson, Mitchell Lawson, David Lawson, Lance Lawson, Debbie Marshall, Tyler Lawson, Hubie Duncan and several other great-great nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends.
The Silcox Family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville, TN. from 12 Noon until time of Masonic Services to begin at 2:00 P.M. Funeral Service will follow with Rev. Larry Sexton and Bro. James Pennington officiating. Music will be provided by Rebecca and Dustin Pennington. Graveside Services will follow in the Norma Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post#136.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lawson, Derek Lawson, Lance Lawson, Aaron Lawson, Mitchell Lawson and Tyler Lawson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Lawson, Claude Jeffers, Tim Jackson, JC Massengale and Richard Schilke.
