76th Annual Christmas Parade

Hundreds of Scott County locals braved the cold weather Friday and Saturday for Christmas festivities throughout the community. At Oneida park, a lighting ceremony was hosted on December 6, 2024. Inside the park auditorium, multiple vendors displayed their crafts and baked goods as the First Baptist Church of Oneida bell choir performed Christmas and church carols on the stage.
On Saturday, residents were treated to the annual Christmas parade – with floats and participants aligning the parade route which stretched the near full length of Albert St. Parade participants tossed candy to hundreds of locals who filled the sides of the streets. This year, the grand marshal of the parade was Jolee Manis. Jolee, a young 2nd grader from Scott County, was recently diagnosed with a relapse of a complicated brain tumor, for which treatment has options have been limited. She rode with her family and waved gleefully at locals. The parade wrapped up with a barrage of lights and sirens from the many fire trucks of our local volunteer fire departments.
