Community Events

Softball-Baseball Camp will be held at Jack E. Lay Sports Complex in Oneida on June 9 – 11, 2025.  Registration will take place on Monday, June 9th, from 8:30am – 9am.  Clinic will run from 9am – 12pm.  Vickee Kazee Hollifield is camp director assisted by College players and HS Coaches.  The camp includes throwing/hitting, game situation/fielding, catching techniques, base running/bunting, infield/outfield play.  The cost of the clinic is $55 and should be paid when applications are submitted. 

FREE Fishing Day in Tennessee Saturday, June 7th. Anyone of any age can fish free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters. From the Bill Dance Signature Lakes to rushing rivers, our state parks have a fishin’ spot for you. Plan your visit at tnstateparks.info/Fishing.

Also on this day, Tennessee State Parks are offering free ranger-led hikes at parks across the state for National Trails Day. Make it a full day’s worth of adventure by combining a hike with some fishing. Find a hike at tnstateparks.info/NationalTrailsDay25.

U.S.S Tennessee Museum Located at Scott County High School will be open June 7th (Ham radio ship, weekend) & 28th, July 12th & 26th, August 9th & 23rd, September 13th & 27th (Scott County Heritage Festival), October 11th & 25th, November 8th & 22nd and December 6th.

Second Harvest of East Tennessee Mobile Food Pantry will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oneida on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 11am until all the allocated food has been distributed.  Second Harvest requests that recipients should arrive when the distribution starts, rather than arriving before the start time.  The distribution will take place at 19360 Alberta Street, Oneida, TN.

Free Clothing Distribution – Appalachian Ministry Center, located at 24728 Scott Hwy in Winfield (Old Winfield School Building) will have a free clothing distribution on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 9am-12 noon. 

Homecoming Service – New Light United Baptist Church will have Homecoming Service on Sunday, June 15 at 10 am. Brother Logan Fults will be preaching and we will have special singing as well. Pastor Larry Fults and the church invite everyone to come join us!

Homecoming Services – Pine Hill United Baptist Church will be having homecoming services June 15th at 10am. Guest preacher, Bro. Keith Marcum. Pastor Dennis Blevins and congregation invite everyone to attend. 

Annual Meeting – Services at Slick Rock Cemetery will be Sunday, June 8th at 10 a.m.. Everyone is invited. 

Clean Slate Addiction And Trauma Recovery Group. Meetings are every Monday at 6:30pm at Thrive Church; 130 Choate Lane, Oneida Tn 37841. For more info call/text Miranda Salada at 423-577-9221. This is for any type of addiction, not just substance and alcohol, and any trauma. It is a faith based recovery group.  Everyone welcome 

Boy Scout Troop 333 meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Building, 19175 Alberta St., Oneida. Stop by or contact the Scoutmaster at (423) 319-9753.

American Legion Post 136 meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00 PM in the War Memorial Building. Location is 19174 Alberta St. Oneida TN 37841.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5669 meets the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Location is 1578 Sand Cut Rd Oneida, TN 37841. 

 Vacation Bible School – Joseph: from Prison to Palace. Your invited to Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oneida for VBS, June 29th – July 3rd, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
