Oneida Elementary School Welcomes New Leadership Team

Ashley Billingsley,
Principal of OES
Oneida – Oneida Special School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Ashley Billingsley as the new Principal of Oneida Elementary School (OES), and Dr. Michelle Massengale as the new Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Billingsley, who has been serving as the Assistant Principal at OES, was selected by the hiring committee for her exceptional dedication to student success and her proven instructional leadership. With 18 years of experience in elementary education, Mrs. Billingsley has served in various roles including classroom teacher, Teacher Leader, and NIET Educator Network Participant. Her deep commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment makes her the ideal leader to guide OES into its next chapter.
“I am incredibly honored to serve as the next Principal of Oneida Elementary,” said Mrs. Billingsley. “This school and community hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure that every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.”
Joining her on the leadership team is Dr. Michelle Massengale, who will transition from Oneida Middle School, where she currently teaches 7th-grade English Language Arts and serves as the Master Teacher. Dr. Massengale brings 27 years of experience in K-8 education, including roles as a Reading Recovery Teacher and Teacher Leader with the REA grant. Her passion for education and student development will bring valuable new insights to the

“I’m thrilled to join the incredible team at Oneida Elementary School,” said Dr. Massengale. “I look forward to building strong relationships with staff, students, and families as we work together to create a nurturing and academically enriching environment.”
“We are confident that Mrs. Billingsley and Dr. Massengale will provide strong, visionary leadership to support the continued academic and social growth of our students,” said Dr. Jeanny Phillips, Director of Schools. “Please join us in welcoming them to their new roles and supporting them as they transition into this exciting chapter.”
Dr. Massengale will begin visiting OES in the coming days to get acquainted with the staff and students. The district encourages everyone to extend a warm welcome and congratulations to both Ashley and Michelle as they begin their new roles.
