U.S.S Tennessee Museum Located at Scott County High School will be open May 10th & 24th, June 7th (Ham radio ship, weekend) & 28th, July 12th & 26th, August 9th & 23rd, September 13th & 27th (Scott County Heritage Festival), October 11th & 25th, November 8th & 22nd and December 6th.
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser– May 3rd. Boy Scout Troop 333- Held at American Legion-War Memorial Building- 19194 Alberta St. in Oneida. Menu: Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Side Salad, Garlic Bread, Dessert, Drink. $10 per person Dine in or Carry Out. 12:00-5:00pm. All proceeds benefit Boy Scout Troop 333 and Venturing Crew 333. Please help us get to Summer Camp.
The Big South Fork Quilt Show Location: Scott Christian Care Center, Oneida, TN, Time: May 3 & 4, 2025. Explore quilt exhibitions, Quilt Turning sessions, and the special Quilt of Valor Presentation. Quilt entries are welcome until April 30.
Rugby Rumble Classic Car Cruise-In – Location: Rugby Parkway, Rugby, TN, Time: 11:00 AM–3:00 PM EST, Celebrate classic cars with live music from Hollarback, prize giveaways, and delicious food, including hamburgers, milkshakes, and baloney sandwiches. Dash plates will be available for the first 100 vehicles, and you can meet Tiffany from the Appalachian Channel crew!
PEC’s 86th Annual Membership Meeting – Location: Plateau Electric Cooperative, 16200 Scott Hwy, Oneida, TN. Time: 9:00 AM–11:00 PM (Registration: 9:00 AM–10:00 AM, Meeting starts at 10:00 AM). Join us for a day of community engagement with door prizes and lunch provided by the Scott County Rescue Squad.
Decoration Day Cemetery Quest – Location: Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area
Time: Starts May 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM (ET)
Step into the past with this self-guided adventure honoring the Appalachian tradition of Decoration Day. Pick up a Cemetery Quest booklet at Bandy Creek Visitor Center (151 Stable Rd, Oneida, TN) or download it online. Complete the quest by May 31 to earn the 2025 Cemetery Quest Patch and up to 25 GO BIG Challenge points.
Turkey & Dressing or Ham Dinner at Elgn Commmunity Center, May 2, 25 from 3 – 6 p.m. Adults $6, children 12 & under $3. Proceeds go to Blackcreek Kilbeck Cementery. For more information or carry-out orders call 423-627-7307, 423-701-0861 or 423-539-3902.
Oneida Masonic Lodge #695 will be serving breakfast the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. $8 a plate, 7am-10am.

Free Clothing Distribution – Appalachian Ministry Center, located at 24728 Scott Hwy in Winfield (Old Winfield School Building) will have a free clothing distribution on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 9am-12 noon.
Perkins Cemetery – The annual meeting of the Perkins Cemetery Community will be held on June 8th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Donations are needed for the up keep of the cemetery. Send donations to: Opal Anderson, P.O. Box 74, Winfield, TN 37892.
Sexton Memorial Cemetery – Donations accepted or any help in maintaining the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community. Karate for Christ Oneida presents Christ centered karate lessons at Oneida Church of God, 1100 Paint Rock Rd., Oneida, TN. Open to everyone 5 years and up regardless of age, size or shape. Suggested donation of $5.00 per class. For more information call Larry Mason at 302-535-3965.
Highland Harmony Community Chorus – A program created through the Appalachian Society of the Arts is open to area adult and teens (14 and up) who want to sing together in a large group. Rehearsals are on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Oneida. Annual dues is $40 for music and supplies.
