Great Dane donates to
Second Harvest Food Bank
of East TN
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has led the effort to end hunger in Northeast Tennessee since 1986. Their mission is to feed the hungry in Northeast Tennessee by securing and distributing food and engaging the community in the fight to end hunger through regional partnerships, programs, and education.
Second Harvest representative Rachael Ellis, Director of Development, Jerried Jeffers, Mayor of Scott County met Friday to receive a check for $1,000 from Great Dane HR Manger, Jon Fletcher and Plant Manager Brad Kail.
Second Harvest Food Bank of East TN has distributed 756,258 pounds of food. The distribution includes 210 children participating in Food for Kids at Burchfield Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Huntsville Elementary, Oneida Elementary, Oneida Middle, Oneida High and Winfield Elementary. 185 seniors through Senior Outreach, 33 people impacted by Nutrition Access, two Partner Agencies, Gerry McDonald Mission House and Pinnacle Resource Center. Two neighbors utilizing Empowerment Services, Harvest to Home and one Mobile Pantry that recurs the second Wednesday of each month at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oneida.
