Joan (Joann) Webb

Joan (Joann) Webb, age 70 of Oneida, TN passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on August 1, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Taylor. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Webb; son, Marty Lee Webb; sisters, Ora Jean Butler, Maxine Blevins, Florene Gibson; brothers, Bubby Taylor, Robert Taylor, James Taylor, and Lewis Taylor.
Joann is survived by her grandson, Dalton Brewster; sister, Linda Cross and husband Scott of Huntsville; special nieces, April Niblack who was like a daughter to her and Amy Olinger; nieces, Nancy, Denise, Krystal, Angie, Victoria, Sarah, Mindy, Tammy, Twana, Vickie, Lisa Ann, Matilda Elizabeth, Kim, Jenny, and Sienna; nephews, Jimmy, Billy, Carl, Rick, Mike, Troy, Mark, Timmy, Charlie, Kenny, and Chris; many other family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the Webb family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Williams officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Charlie Niblack, Allen Olinger, Kenny Jeffers, Tim Gibson, Carl Bell, little Troy Blevins, and Craig Blevins.

Rosita Posey

Rosita Pennington Posey, age 76 of Oneida, TN passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at her home. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Hughie and Juanita Buttram Pennington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg Pike; stepson, Dustin Posey; and sister, Orangie Keeton.
Rosita is survived by her husband, Witmer Posey; one son, Troy Pike; two daughters, Tresa Pike Woods and husband Greg and Sherrie Pike Ellis and husband Bill; two stepdaughters, Tracey Douglas and Christy Smith and husband Brian; 11 grandsons and one granddaughter; 14 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Posey family on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Barnes officiating. Music will be provided by Tony Ashcroft and Janet Yancey.

Lawrence “Bobby” Hill

Lawrence Hill, age 75 of Helenwood, TN, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born April 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Magdalene Byrd Hill.
Lawrence was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had a strong love for his country, and was pastor of Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church for over 32 years where he loved sharing the gospel of Christ with others. He worked as a postal clerk for many years before retirement. He loved home, family, church, baseball, woodworking, family gatherings, and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jim Hill; sister: Wanda June Terry; grandparents: John Riley and Cora Lee Byrd; father and mother-in-law: Leon and Laura Jane Cecil Carson; sister-in-law: Wanda Fae Carson; brothers-in-law: Richard Watson, Jake Terry, Kennard Carson, Charles Carson, Marion Carson, Billy Carson, Crawford Phillips, and Douglas Griffith.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 51 years: Patricia Carson Hill; sons: Lawrence Jared Hill (Rebecca) and Jonathan Philip Hill (Ashley); daughter: Jamie Erin Nuyen (Noi); grandchildren: Kinley, Kennedy, Chloe, Carson, Colt, Kayse, Baylor, Hudson, and Beckham; sisters: Beverly Choate (Fred), Linda Steward (Don), Cora Queener, and Dorothy Watson; brother: David Hill (Sharon); sister-in-law: Tammy Hill; Gereda Phillips, Phyllis Griffith, Jim (Jeannie) Carson, Ted (Carol) Carson, Sue Carson, Becky Carson; as well as many other family members and friends.

Committal service will follow in the Cecil Cemetery in the Cherry Fork Community of Helenwood, TN with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Sheila Stringfield

Sheila Stringfield, age 71 of Huntsville, TN passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Born in Oneida, TN on June 7, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Henry Jackson Guffey and Pauline Guffey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Lee and Jimmy Guffey.
Sheila is survived by her husband, Robert “Sam” Stringfield; daughter, Angelia Clark; her triplet siblings, Sharon Clark and husband Doug and Steve Guffey and wife JoAnn; brothers, Milford Guffey and wife Elsa and Ronnie Guffey and wife Anita; granddaughters, Autumn Lloyd and husband Cody, Kristin Terry and husband Andre, Celestia Roman and husband Joel; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Charlotte Lee (Ollie) Chambers, age 80 of Helenwood, TN, left this world on Friday, February 9, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1943, to the late Ewell Crabtree and Minerva Byrd Crabtree. Ollie loved her family along with cooking, canning, and her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Toney Chambers; sisters, Ruth Bolton (Dennis), Margaret Honeycutt (Walter), Edith Love (Grover), Opal Whisnant, Mabel Phillips (Bill), Ethel Crabtree; brother, J.H. Crabtree (Judy); sisters-in-law, Juanella Mae Chambers, Lena Rose Gray, and Shirley Frye; brothers-in-law, Hal Whisnant, Billy Don Loyd, Hestle Chambers, and Harold Chambers.
Ollie is survived by her children, Wade (Kathy), Steve (Kammy), and Terry (Roxanna) Chambers; sisters, Daisey Loyd, Cassie Whisnant; brothers, Charles Crabtree (Jeraldine), L.B. Rosemary Schenck

Rosemary Schenck, 77, departed this life on Sunday, (February 18, 2024). She was born May 28, 1946, as one of 6 children to Frank and Sadie Calia who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four siblings: Bill, Frank, Gloria, and Pat. She was also preceded in death by her husband Russell and her granddaughter Harper Pemberton. She is survived by one sibling: Darlene Johnson.
She leaves behind a loving family of eleven children: James and Sara Schenck, Jerry Schenck, Jeffery and Jennifer Schenck, Russell and Christina Schenck, Rosemary and Brian Armstrong, Rebekah and Jake Rosso, Annette and Wayne Mowery, Walter Schenck, Emil and Christy Schenck, Jack Schenck, and Sarah and Jason Pemberton. She is also survived by 3 adopted children, Cody, Dawson, and Eric, 34 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Committal service will be on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, TN. Family and friends will meet at West-Murley Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Breeanna (Bree) Jeffers

Breeanna (Bree) Jeffers, age 33 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at her home.
She was born February 24, 1990 in Oneida, the first of five children. Bree is the daughter of Karen Welch Jeffers and the late Charles Derek Jeffers. She is the granddaughter of Alice Stanley Welch and the late Gary Welch, and Sandra Coffey Jeffers and the late Charles Price Jeffers. Bree was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, aunt, and niece. She loved her family fiercely. Charlie, Josiah, Alexandra, Vivienne, Eliza, Mary Claire, Gavin, Taylor, Emersyn, and Kellen were her joys.
She was a kindergarten teacher with TN Virtual Academy and her students were a top priority in her life. She adored these children and spoke to her family about them often. She was a graduate of the Oneida High School class of 2008 and Tennessee Tech University class of 2011. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Bree was preceded in death by her father, Charles Derek Jeffers; uncle Eric Griffith; and grandfathers Gary Ray Welch and Charles Price Jeffers.
She is survived by her mother: Karen Welch Jeffers; brothers: Chuck Jeffers and wife Jessica, Michael Jeffers and wife Kayla, Gary Jeffers and wife Elizabeth, and Gabriel Jeffers and wife Shelley; nieces and nephews: Charlie, Josiah, Alexandra, Vivienne, Eliza, and Mary Claire; aunts: Jill Jeffers Griffith and Tina Welch; cousins: Felicia Potter and Parker Bilbrey, Nick, Jake and Gracie Hamby, Bayleigh, Zane and Lydia Griffith; and her very special adopted family, whom she loved dearly: Dennis and Jennifer Jones, Sarah Byrd and Gavin, Taylor, Emersyn and Kellen.

Mary Ruth Robbins Brawner passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Huntsville, Tennessee. She was born in Caryville, Tennessee on January 31, 1942.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George Brawner; parents, Hurstle and Verda Marlowe Robbins; brothers, Paul Webb, Bob Robbins, and Jess Robbins and wife Lavelle; sisters, Ida Vinsant and husband, “Red,” Vauda Faulkner and husband Johnny; niece, Cindy Robbins; and granddaughter, Callie Hutchison.
Ruth is survived by her son, Greg Brawner and girlfriend Melissa; daughter, Jill Brawner Neal and husband Randy; grandchildren, Justin Brawner and wife Christy, Katie, Jess, and Brayden Brawner, KK, Bree, Heath, and Hunter Hutchison and fiancee` Emma Frazier; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jana, Carson, and Finn Brawner and Kenton Hutchison; brother, Herbert Robbins and wife Pat; sister, Judy Stokeley; special friends, Jan and Norma Jean Byrd, Linda Sharp, and many other family members and friends.
