Dellie Trammell,
age 74 of Winfield,
TN passed away on
Sunday, July 16, 2023,
at her home. Born in
Morgan County, TN on
February 15, 1949, she
was the daughter of the
late Turney and Myrtle
Lowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her brothers, Walter Lowe and Ernist
Lowe and sisters, Hazel Burge and Dorthy
Lowe.
Dellie is survived by her sons, Tony Phillips
and Cary Phillips; sisters, Olie Taylor and Haley
Taylor; brothers, Billy Lowe, Glen Lowe, and
Jerry Lowe; grandchildren, Nicky (Phillips)
Payne, Tori Phillips, and Brier Phillips; great
grandchildren, Aubrey Payne and Nevan Payne,
many nieces and nephews, great nieces and
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Trammell family on
Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 12 p.m. until time
of the funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of
West-Murley Funeral Home.
Committal service will follow in the Perkins
Cemetery in Winfield. Pallbearers will be family
and friends.

J. R. Buttram, age
79 of the Paint Rock
Community of Oneida,
TN, passed away on
Tuesday, July 18, 2023,
with family by his side.
Born February 28,
1944, in Clinchmore,
TN, he was the son of
the late Fred and Rebecca
Carson Buttram.
J. R. was of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by three brothers:
James, Denzil and D. J; five sisters: Ruby
Althea, Princess, Geraldine and Betty; father and
mother-in-law: Daris and Cordellia Pike; and
brother-in-law: Lawton Pike.
J. R. is survived by his wife: Eunice Pike Buttram;
two daughters: Tanja Terry and husband
David, and Veneshia Buttram and Travis Hord;
one brother: Glen and wife Tina; sisters-in-law:
Bernice and Wayne Johns, and Sheila Buttram;
three grandchildren: Davin Terry and Megan,
Celeste Thompson and Kyle, and Dylan Henson
and Krista; great grandchildren: Paisley, Walker,
Granger, Keleigh, Josie, Willow, Ryan, and
Andrew; special friend: David Anderson; and
he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and
other friends.
Friends may visit with the Buttram family on
Friday, July 21, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until time
of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the Oneida
Church of God with Pastor Chuck Jeffers officiating.
Music will be provided by: Allen
Carson and Missy Jeffers.
Committal service will follow in the Phillips
Cemetery in the Cherry Fork Community.
Pallbearers will be: Davin Terry, Travis Hord,
Chester Duncan, Ryan Washam, Andrew Washam,
David Terry, Daniel Buttram, and Kyle
Bankston. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Walker
Henson and Granger Thompson.

Milford Paul
Parnell, age 91,
of Knoxville (Halls
Crossroads), passed
away peacefully Friday,
July 21, 2023.
At the age of 18, he
joined the Navy and
was proud to serve during
the Korean War. He
was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church
and actively served as a Deacon and Sunday
School teacher for many years. He learned to
fly a plane in his 40’s and loved drifting through
the clouds with friends and family. Paul was a
devoted husband and loving father and loved to
make people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and
Vesta Parnell as well as five sisters and three
brothers.
He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, June
Parnell and his daughter, Joyce Parnell as well as
many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral service 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 25,
2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel,
Reverend Joseph Williams, officiating. The family
will receive friends following service. Family
and friends may meet 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 25,
2023 at Carson Memorial Park, Oneida, TN for

Charline Sexton
Young, age 80, of
Oneida departed this
life on Friday, July
21, 2023, at the Lake
Cumberland Regional
Hospital in Somerset,
KY. Charline was born
in Scott County and
of the Baptist faith.
She met her husband
Kenneth Young then moved to Barbourville,
Kentucky where they raised their family until
Kenneth’s passing. Charline moved back to her
hometown of Scott County to be surrounded by
her two loving sons, daughter-in-law and two
grandsons that took loving care of her until her
passing.
Charlene and her husband owned and operated
Young’s Jewelry in Barbourville, Kentucky for
38 years before retiring. Charline loved to paint
and enjoy taking care of the elderly. She was a
faithful and caring wife to her husband. She had
the purest love you can find on this earth for her
family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents: Arlin
& Vella Wilkerson Sexton
Her husband of 38 years Kenneth Young.
Siblings: Winnie & Paul West, Carrie Lea &
Lee Sexton, Clara Mae & Roscoe Anderson,
Nesba Ree & Willard Yancey, Ronnie Duncan,
& Wilburn Sexton; Neice: Marilyn Wright, &

She is survived by her two sons Jerry and wife
Missy of Huntsville, TN and Chris of Oneida,
TN; Grandchildren: Adam Young & wife Abby,
& Nicholas Young; Great grandchildren: Arlin,
Abram, & Addie Young; Many other special
nieces, nephews & many other relatives and
friends.

Born July 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the
late James Reuben and Pearl Barger Mullins.
In addition to her parents, Alta was preceded
in death by the father of her children: Barney
Stringfield; her husband: Donald C. Hatfield;
one infant grandson; two sisters: Dorothy Brown
and Inis Micherel; four brothers: Frank, Stanley,
Ralph, and Harold Mullins.
Alta is survived by her two daughters: Gayle and
her husband Gary Williams and Janet Stringfield;
two brothers: Ray and Prentice Mullins;
grandkids: Shonda, Michelle, and Joebe; great
grandchildren: Austin, Hannah, Brennan, Kyle,
Madison, and Moana; great-great grandchildren:
AvaLynn and Elliana; special niece and nephew:
Raetta Lobdell and Jerry Brown; as well as other
