Samantha Hall, 42, of Winfield is currently facing multiple felony charges after an alleged assault and burglary incident that ended with Hall herself suffering a gunshot wound, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO). Hall allegedly entered another woman’s property in the Pine Hill community, assaulted the resident, and attempted to force her way into the victim’s home.
During the alleged incident, Hall sustained a gunshot wound. Details of that shooting have not been made public with Sheriff Brian Keeton initially saying the investigation was in its early stages. Deputies and emergency medical personnel, however, responded to the scene, where Hall was treated before being airlifted to a Knoxville hospital for additional medical care.
In a statement released last Monday, Sheriff Brian Keeton announced that Hall had been released from hospital care but had been taken into police custody on several charges that included aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, vandalism, interference with emergency communications, and possession of prohibited weapons.
SCSO continue to say the case remains under active investigation and that additional charges may be filed as investigators continue gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
As of press, authorities have not released specific details regarding the circumstances surrounding the assault, the shooting of Hall, the extent of her injuries, or the identity of the alleged victim.
SCN reminds readers that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
