Step Back in Time for a Spooktacular Evening at Historic Rugby’s Annual Ghostly Gathering
RUGBY – Witness the sprits of Halloween and history at Historic Rugby’s annual “Ghostly Gathering,” happening on Saturday, October 18 and Saturday, October 25, from 5:30 to 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
Each fall, visitors gather in this 1880s Victorian village on the Cumberland Plateau to celebrate Halloween, Victorian-style—with a homemade chili supper, guided candlelit tours, and captivating, family-friendly ghost stories shared under the big tent, hot cider in hand.
The evening begins with dinner at Hester Hall, followed by a guided walk through Rugby’s historic buildings, where guests will hear tales of early settlers and explore Victorian mourning customs. Expect to meet a few “spirits” along the way, as well.
Storytelling rounds out the night, featuring acclaimed Appalachian voices sure to mesmerize the crowd of listeners.
“This event is one of Historic Rugby’s most popular traditions,” says organizer Cathy Hardaway. “It always sells out, so folks should get their tickets early.”
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students and children and are available at HistoricRugby.org under the “Events” tab. All proceeds benefit Historic Rugby’s preservation efforts. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight.
The Ghostly Gathering is organized entirely by volunteers and supported in part by the Tennessee Arts Commission.
