E.T.H.R.A. will distribute USDA Foods on September 11, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Scott County Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market. Please bring your boxes, and you may pick up for three households only. ETHRA is an equal opportunity provider.

Free Clothing Distribution – Appalachian Ministry Center, located at 24728 Scott Hwy in Winfield (Old Winfield School Building) will have a free clothing distribution on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 9am-12 noon. 

UPPER JELLICO CREEK REUNION normally held over Labor Day weekend has been moved to Sunday, October 19th, at 1:00 due to the rising temperatures.

Honor Guard Recruitment and Need – Oneida’s American Legion Post 136 Honor guard an all-volunteer group need new members for our team as well as new uniforms. Anyone interested in learning more about being an Honor Guard member, or in donating for the purchase of uniforms, please call the Veterans Service Office at 423-663-4289,  M-F, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Serious inquiries only.

U.S.S Tennessee Museum Located at Scott County High School will be open August 23rd, September 13th & 27th (Scott County Heritage Festival), October 11th & 25th, November 8th & 22nd and December 6th.

Scott County Ladies Retreat -Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, September 20, 2025, 8 AM – 3 PM. Breakfast and lunch provided. Skits, speakers, biblical teaching, prayer and fellowship. Held at Helenwood Baptist Church, 235 Main Street, Helenwood, Tennessee 37755. No cost but registration is required. Please register this month by going to https://cuw.azl.qualtrics.com 

Highland Harmony Community Chorus – A program created through the Appalachian Society of the Arts is open to area adult and teens (14 and up) who want to sing together in a large group. Rehearsals are on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Oneida. Annual dues is $40 for music and supplies. Children’s Center of the Cumberlands Race For HOPE  – enter the inflatable Race for Hope at Oneida City Park, near amphitheater,  August 30th, a race at 5pm, 6pm, & 7pm. Registration at the table the day of the event, no cost for entering the race, donations would be greatly appreciated. We ask that if you plan to enter the race you bring your own inflatable costume. We will only have a few on hand to rent in limited sizes. 

Labor Day Celebration – Saturday, August 30, 2025, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Oneida City Park. Come out to enjoy music, vendors, food trucks, kids korner and fireworks. Rain date: Sunday, August 31, watch Town of Oneida from the Mayors Desk facebook page for updates.

Oneida Night at the Fair – The Town of Oneida is treating you to a night at the fair on Wednesday, September 3rd, gate admission is 100% FREE for all Scott Countians. Gates open at 6 PM (Does not include armbands for midway rides).

Music on Main – Chili cook off – September 13th, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.. Live music, vendors, food trucks and all you can eat chili for $10. Downtown, Oneida, TN

Shop with a Cop Car, Truck and Bike Show – Oneida City Park, Oneida, TN, September 20th, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.. This is a Charity Event, Registration will be by Donations. All proceeds go to shop with a cop to help under privileged children in the area. 

Multi-Church Prayer Meeting for guidance on the landfill.  Monday, September 15th, from 6:30 – 8pm at Scott Christian Care Center.  All Churches are invited. Churches should register by emailing [email protected]. 

Clean Slate Addiction And Trauma Recovery Group. Meetings are every Monday at 6:30pm at Thrive Church; 130 Choate Lane, Oneida Tn 37841. For more info call/text Miranda Salada at 423-577-9221. This is for any type of addiction, not just substance and alcohol, and any trauma. It is a faith based recovery group.  Everyone welcome
