Your Daily Nugget Of Good

(Raynham Fire Department)
Early Sunday, just after midnight, firefighters in Raynham, Massachusetts, responded to a report of a kitten in distress crying for help inside a storm drain. Out of an abundance of caution due to the lack of light, first responders made the decision to wait for daylight to proceed with rescue efforts. Before they left, however, they lowered down a pet crate, food and water into the storm drain.

The next morning, firefighter Dom Kuran climbed down into the 8-foot-deep storm drain and was able to bring the kitten out safely. Now named Storm, the 5-week-old kitten is doing well and currently being fostered by a local animal control officer. The photo above shows Storm paying a happy visit to Kuran two days after he rescued her.
