Daugherty Commits to Union College

Oneida High School Baseball Coach Chad McDowell would like to congratulate Colten Daugherty
on committing to Union College. His signing ceremony was on July 27 at the OHS library.
Colten is the son of Adam and Cindy Daugherty. Colten was contacted by Union that he had
received a baseball scholarship from Union College to play for the Bulldogs. Union College is
small a private college in Barbourville, Ky.
Colten is the 4th high school player to have received a baseball scholarship under the current
baseball head coach Chad McDowell. Others consist of Jacob Hamilton at Bryan College in
Dayton, TN, Hunter Shoemaker at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, TN and McLoren
Love at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. As coach McDowell stated more
than likely these guys will meet on the field again as players from high school to college teams.
So very proud of our Indians! Colten would like to thank Coach McDowell for all the extra hours
and the hard set mentality that he instilled in his players. “I would like to thank Bo Kidd & Riley
Laxton for always giving me a constant confidence boost even
when I felt like I didn’t deserve it, these guys in my opinion do
more for Oneida Sports than what they are given credit for.”
