Madeleine McCann Search
The latest search related to Madeleine McCann has concluded after three days of search efforts in Portugal, reportedly looking for evidence to link the British toddler’s disappearance to German suspect Christian Brückner.
The search was concentrated around the Arade reservoir, approximately 31 miles from Praia da Luz, where 3-year-old McCann disappeared from her bed during a family vacation in May 2007. Authorities removed several bags near the reservoir, which stands at half capacity due to persistent drought.
Last year, Brückner, a 45-year-old convicted child abuser, was officially named a suspect by prosecutors in McCann’s disappearance. Brückner, serving a seven-year prison sentence in Germany for the rape of a 72-year-old woman in Portugal in 2005, was known to frequent the reservoir. However, he has not been formally charged in relation to the case.
The discoveries, if any, made during the recent search remain unknown.
