LANCE OWENS


Lance Owens, 76, of Huntsville passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 at Oak Ridge Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was a member of Habersham Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Darles Owens; his father and mother, Cleo and Opal Smith Owens; son, Terry Lee Murray; brothers, Larry and Jack Owens; sisters: Deloris Owens, Brima Lalonde, and Ogle Hailey.
Survivors include children: Lisa Taylor, Connie Owens; special son-in-law: Kyle Murray; two grandchildren: Jamison Murray and wife Emily, Monika West and husband Darby; three great-grandchildren: Lakhan West, Ethan Gabehart and Lucas Gabehart; brothers; M.J. Owens and wife Ann, Dennis Owens; sisters: Jean Davis and husband Jimmy, Janet King and husband Bud; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Masonic services were conducted Sunday, October 2 at 6:45 P.M. followed by funeral services at 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with bro. Michael Ray Jeffers and Robbie Owens officiating. Music was provided by Robby Owens.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 3 at 10 A.M. at the Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were: Kyle Murray, Jamie Murray, Darby West, Johnny Owens, Derek Owens, and Dean Owens.
Honorary pallbearer was Ethan Gabehart.

CHRISTINE CHITWOOD


Christine Chitwood, 83, of Winfield passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Oneida Nursing and Rehab surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Timon and Laura Neal Laxton,
Mrs. Chitwood was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Chitwood; sons, Kenny Lee Chitwood and Larry Wayne Chitwood; and sister, Norma Jean Meadows.
Survivors include four children, Anna Ruth King, Dorothy Jane Mullins, Danny Boy "Horse" Chitwood and wife, Judy, and Marty Chitwood and companion, Carla Angelini; brother, Thomas Laxton; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, October 4 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Robert Blankenship officiating.
Interment followed in the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

CHRISTOPHER BRYCE PHILLIPS


Christopher Bryce Phillips, 41, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. He was born in Oneida on May 11, 1975
He was preceded in death by grandparents: Odis Phillips, Gilberta Jeffers; great-grandparents; Lonzo and Flora Jeffers.
Survivors include his parents, Curtis L. and Carol A. Phillips of Capital Hill; wife, Penny Phillips, two brothers and one sister, Jeffrey Phillips and wife Hattie and Michael Phillips and Ramona and Kimberly and husband Larry; three boys, Kagan, Skyler, and Reece Phillips; one step-daughter, Harley and step-son, Coty Upchurch and two grandsons; grandmother, Jean Sandifer and grandfather, Travis Jeffers; two aunts: Lisa Anderson and Teresa Wenning of OH; nieces: Tammy Phillips, Annetta Jones, Elisha and Jaycee Phillips ; nephews: Odie Phillips, Terry Jones, and Steven Phillips; special friends, Jamie Lowe and wife Heather, Shannon Lawson and wife Jody, Bruce Duncan, and Seth Strunk, and Steve and Connie Strunk; many other relatives and friends.
His wishes were cremation (his Faith Baptist).

MILLIE GENEVA ANDERS PHILLIPS BAIRD


Millie Geneva Anders Phillips Baird, 91, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Lafollette Medical Center in Lafollette, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Anders and Nancy Alice Tompkins Anders.
She was a member of Hayes Creek Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Orville Johnson, second husband Edbert Phillips, and third husband Walter Baird; sons: David Johnson, Hoyt Phillips, and Jack Phillips; daughter: Sue Hixson; son-in-law: Gordon Hixson; daughter-in-law: Bea Phillips; grandsons: Walter, Willie, and George Anders; sisters: Emma Couch, Gertie Gray, Iva Staggs, Juanita Huff, Martha Johnson, and Lizzie Weaver.
Survivors include her children: Paul Johnson, Diana Elmore and husband Pete, Shirley Elwartowski and husband Joseph, and Bud Phillips; daughter-in-law: Connie Phillips; special step-daughter: Sally Baird; 19 grandchildren: Debbie, Gregg, Caco, Angie, Gregg, Marty, Barry, Bryan, Geneva and friend Cassius, Nicole and friend Duane, Lucas, Michelle, April and husband Harvey, Cory and wife Samantha, Beth and husband Peyton, Roger, Ricky, Danny and wife Ashley, and Jessie and husband Cory; 21 great-grandchildren: Brianna, Michael, Amiyah, Ryan, Austin, Landon, Isaac, Zackery, Emily, Jacy, Andrew, George, and Adyson; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Special friends: Brad Kennedy, Dennis Jeffers, and Nick Botts with Buckeye Medical; Quality Home Health; and Oneida Rehab Facility's nurses and therapists.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 5 at 8 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida. Music was provided by Heartfelt and Charlie King and Cosetta Phillips.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 6 at 3 P.M. in the Sexton Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Cory Elmore, Robert Baker, Danny Baker, Harvey Adkins, Peyton Carson, and Cory Frederick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Adkins, Chris Adkins, and Dilan Adkins.

ALICE LEE HUTSON

Alice Hutson, 44, of the Lafollette Community in Tennessee passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Lafollette Medical Center in Lafollette. She was born September 22, 1972.
She joined Norma Baptist Church in July 25, 1982 and was baptized July 26, 1982.
She was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Kamryn and Kinley Lowe; grandparents, Lonzo and Cordelia Harness and Joe and Alene Hutson, half-sister: Velicity Hutson.
Survivors include her mother, Delia Harness Foust and husband Rick of Helenwood; father, Henry Hutson of Oneida: special companion, Charles "Rub" Cantrell; son; Cody Yancey and wife Savanna of Oneida; daughters; Taylor Lowe and husband Paul of Oneida and Nicole Butler of Oneida; four granddaughters; Bailey and Lily Yancey and Kenzington and Kylie Lowe; grandson; Hayden Butler; brothers; Tony Hutson and wife Karen of Fairview and Benji Foust and wife Gina of Helenwood Shawn Hutson; sisters; Brandi and Savannah; niece; Makalyn Martin; nephew; Jackson Foust and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 5, at 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with bro. Dudley Harness and bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music was provided by Lloyd Family.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 6 at 12 Noon at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
