PAUL T. BOTTS

Paul T. Botts, 81, Gas City, went to be with the Lord at 8:12 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016, in his home. He was born in Oneida to the late Lemuel Lewis and Nola (Duncan) Botts.

He married Myrna Hall, and she preceded him in death. Also preceding Paul in death were his daughter, Paula (Nick) Norris; brothers, Willard Duncan and James Botts; first wife, Maxine Botts; and second wife, Betty Susan Botts.

Paul worked for Chrysler for 38 years. Music was his life, and he volunteered his time playing music at nursing homes and churches. Paul also enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a member of Jalapa Road Church and attended Community Baptist Church in Red Key.

Survivors include his daughters, Carol Sue (Nick) Simos, Red Key, Debra (Darrell) Day all of Oneida, and Barbara L. (Edwin) Riley of Gas City; 10 step-children; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Simos, Joshua (Toni) Simos, Justin (Amber) Simos, Nickie (Rob) Songer, Christina Norris, Melanie (Charlie) Copeland, Scott Botts, Jessica (Julius) Jefferies, Matthew Doyle, Melinda Doyle, Norma Jean Riley, Emily Riley, and Paul Riley; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lewis (Larrie) Duncan and Gayles (Leisa) Duncan; sister, Sheila (Bob) Liberto; half-brother, Marion Botts; half-sister, Janice Botts; and special friend, Bill Lane; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 19 at 11 A.M. at Red Key Community Baptist Church with Pastors Marcus Combs and Justin Simos officiating.

Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery at Red Key.

BEVIA JEAN TODD BERTRAM

Bevia Jean Todd Bertram, 83, of Robbins, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Signature Health Care of Fentress County in Jamestown. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Evaree Allison Todd.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Ray Bertram; son: Kevin T. Bertram; and great-great-grandson: Joshua Bertram.

Survivors include her son: Gary Bertram and wife Kathy; daughter: Lois Trimm; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Gail Ellis, and William Todd and wife Jeannie; many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 27 at 11 A.M. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., in downtown Rochester, MI.

Mrs. Bertram was laid to rest at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, MI.

LINDA SUE WARD

Linda Sue Ward, 68, of Winona passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. She was the daughter of the late Ermon and Artha Marie Cook Gibson.

Linda attended the Wooldridge Church of God.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Kathy Sue Ward, Daniel Ward, Joyce Ward, Manda Ward, and Matthew Ward; brothers, Gather Dean Gibson, Bobby Gibson, and Glendel Gibson.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Ward, Jr. and Dale Ward; grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony, Matthew, Kevin, Gavin, Holt, Taylor, Danielle, and Jeremy Ward; brother, Jim Gibson; sisters, Darlene Harp and Dorothy Phillips; also leaves other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 30 at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Don Dilbeck officiating.

Music was provided by Ben and Joyce Ward.

Burial followed in the Cook Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

JACOB LANDON MANIS

Jacob Landon Manis, 23, passed away in a tragic car accident Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Ashville, N.C. He was the son of Nick and Donna Manis of Oneida.

Jacob was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church. He really loved his job which was a lineman; he enjoyed being outdoors riding dirt bikes, horse riding, sports and his guitar.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers: Keith Dean Manis, Jerry Max Hughes, James Ray Erwin; great-grandparents: Merchison and Marie Thompson; uncle and aunt: Mark Alan Manis and Shana Noell Manis.

Survivors include his parents, Nicholas Ward Manis and Donna Rae Manis; brothers: Isaac Colt Manis and wife Hannah Mirea Grace, Nicholas Luke Manis, Johnathan Daniel Manis, Tucker Grant Manis and Hunter Eli Manis; grandmothers: Patricia Lou Hughes, Virginia Erwin; aunts and uncles: Patricia Stacey and John Edward Chambers, Derek Keith and Tanya Manis, Linda Strunk, Ruthie and Chuck Mullett, Brenda and Thomas Corder, Karen Erwin , Mike and Rene Erwin, Tammy Sexton, Tim and Stephanie Erwin; special nephew: Solomon Boone Manis; special cousins: Cindy and Adam Daugherty, Colten and Carter Daugherty, Corey Parker Manis; leaves behind many other relatives, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 29 at 7 P.M. at New Haven Baptist Church with bro. John Vernon Thompson and bro. Waylon Payne, and Isaac Manis officiating.

Graveside services were held Sunday, October 30 at 2 P.M. in the Cooper Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were: Luke Manis, Johnny Manis, Adam Daugherty, Rowdy Chambers, Eli Manis, Tucker Manis, Isaac Manis and Corey Manis.

Honorary pallbearers were: Josey Chambers, Andrew Manis, Seth Manis, Colby Sexton and Sam Taylor.

DESTER CLEO JEFFERS JR

Dester Cleo Jeffers, Jr., 65, of Mason, OH, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, OH. He was the son of the late Dester Cleo Jeffers Sr. and Bonnie Phillips Jeffers.

Dester was a member of Masonic Lodge #678.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Judith Bonert-Caliguri and husband Jack.

Survivors include his wife: Wanda Clark Jeffers; daughter: Kyla D. Barton and husband Karl of Mason, OH; son: Dester Cleo Jeffers III and wife Savannah Jeffers of Mason, OH; grandchildren: Katrina Barton, Karissa Barton, Dester Jeffers IV, and Wyatt Jeffers; brothers and sister: Donald Jeffers and wife Louise, of Oneida; Jean Carolyn Anderson and husband David of Paint Rock; Dennis Jeffers and wife Tina of Independence, KY; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 30 at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Interment followed in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in Paint Rock.

Nelson Gregory Wilson, 61, of Winfield passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Eugene and Eva Mae Daugherty Wilson.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Francine West Wilson.

Survivors include his children, April Wilson Mayse and husband Jason, Casey Boshears and fiancé Chris, Cyndi Boshears and fiancé Andy, Sean Harris and wife Gina all of Oneida, Matthew Harris and wife Kacee of Allardt; grandchildren, Jaden, Presley, Lyndsey, Wyatt, Kolton, Macy, Ethan, Jacob, Jordon, Maddie, Praylee, Calen, Christa, Justice, Jericho, Destiny, Sullivan, Nolan and Holland; great-grandchildren, Bretley, Tyson and Brooklyn; brothers and sisters, Glenda Newport and Clayton, Dale Wilson and wife Janet, Diane Wilson and Tim, Billie Jeffers, Barry Wilson and wife Fayrene, Mary Tibbals Gerald Wilson and Joann, Teresa Mayse, Lisa Strunk and Ray; uncle, Danny Wilson and Eunice; sister-in-law, Kathleen West; brother-in-law, Larry West and wife Bonnie; and many other family and friends.

KAREN LYNN SHARPE

Karen Lynn Sharpe, 56, of GA, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016. She was born on December 30, 1959.

Karen was a dedicated wife of 40 years, a loving mother of three girls and a proud maw-maw to 12 grandkids. She loved to play the piano and bass and sing with her girls . Karen was a member of the Faith Church of God in Morrow, GA.

She is preceded is death by her mother: Gladis Dodd; stepfather: William C Payne; sister: Mary Williamson; brothers: Ronald Rucker and Billy Bishop.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Sharpe; daughters: Mandy ( Wesley ) Johnston of Forsyth GA, Jennifer ( Eddie ) Eubanks of Jonesboro GA, Christy (Chris) Hall of Calhoun GA; 12 grandchildren: Jessica, Oscar, Matthew, Rebekah, Christopher, Kelly, Alana, Zachary, Destini, Hunter, Daniel, Jacob; one sister: Barbara Lowe of Fairburn GA; great-aunt: Bonnie Johnson of Carrollton GA; father and mother-in-law; pastor: Galen and Betty Sharpe of Morrow GA; one brother in law: Anthony ( Sebrenia ) Sharpe of Locust Grove GA; two nieces: Michelle, Crystal; three nephews: Lee, Ryan, and Daniel; best friend: Ann Buehl of Palmetto GA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 2 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with bro. Berry McKenzie and Bishop Chris Hall officiating. Music was provided by family and friends.

Pallbearers were: Matthew Sharpe, Oscar Johnston III, Andy Honeycutt, Garfield Chambers, Lee Green, and Pat Cook.

Honorary pallbearer was Oscar Johnston III.

Burial followed in the Strunk Cemetery.

DILMON STANLEY

Dilmon Stanley, 88, of Oneida passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 in Knoxville. He was the son of the late Ben and Maudie Reed Stanley.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Flossie Terry Stanley.

Survivors include his wife, Rretta Chambers; his daughter, Lynn Michelle Phillips and husband Jack; son, Tim Stanley and wife Ginger; granddaughters, Chelsea Phillips Renfro and husband Zac, Kyra, Dara and Jerica Stanley; grandsons, Matthew Phillips and Connor Stanley; brother, Don Stanley and wife Alice; sisters, Betty Akers, Linda King, Janet West and husband Duell; brothers-in-law, Oddos Morris and wife Adalene, Tom Terry and wife Cinda, Jim Terry and wife Laura; sisters-in-law, Dessie West, Hazel Terry and Elsia Terry. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 2 at 8 P.M. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with bro. Jamie Byrd and bro. Dilbert Terry officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, November 3 at 11 A.M.. in the Ross Cemetery.
