MICHAEL PHILLIPS "MICK" COFFEY

Michael Phillips "Mick" Coffey, 68, of Oneida, passed away at his home Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Ruth Phillips Coffey.

Mick was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. For many years he owned and operated the NAPA Auto Parts Store in Oneida.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Shannon Coffey Boruff; and one half-brother: Woodrow Coffey, Jr.

Survivors include his two grandchildren: Alec and Raquel Boruff; special friend: Elizabeth Ellis; as well as other family members and friends.

A memorial service was held Friday, November 11 at 3 P.M. at the local VFW Post #5669 Memorial Wall, located at 2200 Alberta St. in Oneida, with full military honors provided by the local American Legion post #136 of Oneida.

A private burial was held in the East TN Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.

SAMANTHA JEAN BELL MILLS

Samantha Jean Bell Mills, 39, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan formerly of Scott County. She was the daughter of Bonnie Bell Phillips and the late William Bell.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by grandparents: Lawrence and Pearl Blevins; aunts: Ruth Burress, Barbara King, Flonnie Phillips and Pansy Blevins; uncles: J. D. Blevins, Billy Joe Blevins, Sr., and John D. Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, David Mills; children: James Stephen Love, Jonathan Sexton, Brianna Patterson, Gabrielle Patterson and Tomi Patterson; mother: Bonnie Bell Phillips; grandchildren: Brantley and Hadley Sexton; special sister: Trina Byrd and husband Mark of Oneida, brothers and sisters: Danny Jackson and wife Deanna, Judy Robbins and husband Bill, and Lawrence Jackson and wife Linda; aunts: Lena Jackson, Nancy Ooten and husband Junior, Mary Rose Blevins; uncles: Roscoe Blevins; special nieces and nephews: Houston Byrd, Ashton Byrd and Triston Byrd; special friend: Carol Jackson; many other cousins, family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 13 at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with bro. Jeff Davis officiating.

Burial followed in the Blevins Cemetery at Pine Creek.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

LILLARD AUTRIE HUGHETT

Lillard Autrie Hughett 88, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lillard was the son of the late Emmitt L. and Flora M. Hughett of Oneida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jean Hughett; sisters; Ethel Byrd and Littie Posey; brother: Roy Hughett.

Survivors include his sister, Etta Lee Posey of Oneida; children; Ricky A. Hughett and wife Dianne Hughett, Joy Diane Eversole and husband, Jay Eversole; grandchildren; Christopher Lee Black, Paul Allan Hughett, and Steven Jason Black; great-grandchildren, Randy, Brianna, Ryan, Alexis, Shelby, Jaydan, and Maison; many other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 14 at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Flanner & Buchanan-Washington Park East Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.

SUE DEAN TERRY THOMPSON

Sue Dean Terry Thompson, 76, of Oneida, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at her home. She was the daughter of the late James and Juanita Cecil Terry.

Sue was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by one brother, Cletis Terry; one sister, Linda Terry; her father and mother-in-law, George and Bessie Thompson; sister-in-law, Jane Terry.

Survivors include her husband, Delmer Thompson; son, Ronald Thompson and daughter-in-law, Barbara Thompson; daughter, Connie Sue Capps; grandsons, Jeremy Capps and wife Melissa and Kyle Thompson; brothers, Curtis, Michael and Ronnie Terry; sisters, Virginia Mills, Shirlean Phipps, Ora Lee Seagraves, Gail Seven, Doris Potter, Vella Lloyd, Shawn Beaty and Debbie Sexton; brother-in-law, Kenneth Terry; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emily and Ellie Capps; also leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Thompson family Thursday, November 17 from 5 P.M. until time of service at 8 P.M. at the New Haven Baptist Church with bro. Curtis Terry and bro. Lynn Seagraves officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted Friday, November 18 at 11 A.M. in the Cooper Memorial Cemetery.

PHYLLIS OVERTON GOSSETT

Phyllis Overton Gossett, 69, of Helenwood, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ceigal and Evelyn Parson Overton.

She was a member of the Black Creek Crossroads Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald Robbins, Roger Overton, and Ricky (Buster) Overton.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Gossett; daughter, Lesia Ann Cecil of Lenoir City, TN; grandson, William Grant Lane; sister, Sheila Gray of Helenwood; brother, Ronald Overton of Helenwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 15 at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Interment followed in the Reed Cemetery at New River.
