HEATHER JEAN McKINNEY CLAXTON

Heather Jean McKinney Claxton, 31, of Oneida, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2017. She was born February 6, 1985 in Oak Ridge to the late David Ray McKinney and Mary Ann Butler Goodman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Claxton; grandparents: Arnold Butler, Willie and Daisy McKinney; step-father: Joe Goodman; special cousins: Leslie Olinger, Scotty Boyatt; aunts and uncles: Evelyn McKinney, James McKinney, Jean Anson, Dillard McKinney, Harold McKinney, Freida McKinney.

Survivors include her daughter: Aaliayah Claxton; grandparent: Ora Jean Butler; brother: Billy Butler and wife Lisa; sister: Kim McKinney and Jimmy Strunk; aunts and uncles: Amy and Allen Olinger, Jim and Penny Butler, Wilda McKinney Probert, Betty Huckeby, Lorene Leffew, Mary Green; nieces and nephews: Alisa Butler, Lewis Butler, Caden Butler, Ryan McKinney, Salena Phillips, Lexi Phillips; cousins: Carl and Kelly, Mindy, Chris Butler, Jenny, Chris and Jessie; many other family and friends.

MELISSA IRENE DUNN DISHMAN

Melissa Irene Dunn Dishman, 52, of Oneida passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Jean Waddle Care Center of Somerset, KY. Born in Indianapolis, IN on June 16, 1964 she is the daughter of the late Offie Sherman and Marilyn Francis Wright Dunn.

Melissa was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, David Dunn and Kenneth Dunn; sister, Margaret Dunn; brothers-in-law, Billy Dishman, Steven Foster, Bobby Warner; father-in-law, Ray "Gramps" Dishman.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Dishman; children, Anthony Dishman and wife Becky and Melinda "Mindy" Thomas and husband Brent; brothers and sisters, Nancy Brummett and husband Ronald, Sr., Mary Warner, Garry Dunn and wife Gina, Chuck Dunn and wife Sandy, Joyce Dunn, Linda Foster, and Rodney Dishman; grandchildren, Gabby Dishman, Devin Dishman, Cameron Dishman, Carlos Wyatt, Katlen Murphy, and Caden Thomas; mother-in-law, Ruby Dishman; special nieces and nephews, Angela Dunn, Ciearra Miller, Jonathan Taylor and Ethan Dick; special friend, Mildred Wyatt. She also leaves many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 5 at 2 P.M. with bro. Charlie Golden officiating.

Interment followed in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

FLOYD LEE ADKINS

Floyd Lee Adkins, 86, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side January 30, 2017. He was born to the late Harvey and Sadie Braden Adkins on January 14, 1931 in Winfield.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Franklin Adkins; his beloved daughter, Delores Ann Adkins; grandson, Dwayne Allen Adkins; and great-great-grandson, Jayden Allen Blevins.

Survivors include wife, Irene Adkins; sons, Dwayne Adkins and wife, Sharon, of Stearns, KY, and David Adkins and wife, Judy, of Winfield; grandchildren, Robbie Adkins of Stearns, Stacy Marlow and husband, Chris, of Stearns, and Jason Adkins and fiancée, April, of Winfield, Renee Trammell, and Penny Bean; great-grandchildren, Dwayne Aaron Adkins, Jordan Adkins, Raysa Lay and husband, Corey, Christian Blevins and husband, Matt, Logan Marlow, and Jaylee Adkins; great-great-grandson, Levi Adkins; brothers, Sterling Adkins and wife, Jackie, Reuben Adkins, Hillary Adkins and wife, Georgie, Morris Adkins and wife, Ann; sister, Irene Cassada; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Clark and husband, Carrol, and Shirley Taylor; brother-in-law, Jerry Perkins and wife, Judy; special caregiver, Joy King; and many more family members and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 4 at 12 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Jim Strunk and bro. Lee Strunk officiating.

Interment followed in the Adkins Family Cemetery in Winfield.

Pallbearers were: Jason Adkins, Dwayne Aaron Adkins, Robbie Adkins, Chris Marlow, Logan Marlow, and Matt Blevins.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Perkins and Carrol Clark.

James M. Stephens, 52, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at his home in Winfield. Born May 28, 1964, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Josephine Cox Chambers.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Penick Stephens.

ELL DORIA STEPHENS STRUNK

Ell Doria Stephens Strunk, 90, of Huntsville passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1926 to Earl and Mary Martin Stephens.

Mrs. Strunk attended Little Charity Ministries Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Joe Kelly Strunk and Anthony Earl Strunk; sisters, Zola Crabtree and husband, Floyd, and Ruth Chitwood and husband, Jr.; brothers, Edward Stephens and wife, Dorothy, Milford Stephens and wife, Velma, Cary Stephens, and Elbert Stephens.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Justin Strunk, Bethany Strunk, and Kelly Strunk; great-grandsons, Jakob Estep, Lucas Estep, and Scotty Westerdorf; one special nephew, Fred Stephens and wife, Sarah; special niece, Linda Day and husband, Paul; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 8 at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Daniel Woods officiating. Music was provided by bro. Chris Sewell.

Interment followed in the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield.

Pallbearers were: Tim Chitwood, David Chitwood, Jonathan King, Paul Day.

BARNEY CURTIS McCOY

Barney Curtis McCoy, 76, of Helenwood, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 23, 1940 in Fentress County to the late Curtis and Vera Kimbrell McCoy.

Barney was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Linnie McCoy; two daughters: Patricia Asberry and husband Jeff of Helenwood, and Sandra Green and husband Edward of Cary, NC; five granddaughters: Amanda Overton and husband Josh of Robbins, Kellie Walker and husband Dustin of Helenwood, Katherine, Melissa, and Michelle Green all of Cary, NC; two great-grandchildren: Fletcher and Stella Overton of Robbins; three brothers: Boyd McCoy and wife Sonjia, Benton McCoy and wife Dianne, Burl McCoy and wife Phyllis, all of Mt. Helen, TN; two sisters: Frieda Lewallen of Mt. Helen, TN and Elna Hediger of St. Louis, MO; special friend: Scott Rosenbaum of Mt. Helen, TN; host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Barney's wishes were cremation.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, February 11 at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville.

JUDY CAROL PHILLIPS

Judy Carol Phillips, 64, of Oneida passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. She was born July 19, 1952 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Polie Phillips and Mary Phillips.

She was a member of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Wilma Phillips.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Phillips; daughters: Mary Butler and husband Chris, Sherry Duncan and husband Eugene, and Christy Phillips; sons: Russell Phillips; brothers: Arnold Phillips and wife Jennie, Leroy Phillips and wife Wilma; sisters: Edith Chitwood, Josephine Bowling and husband Arthur, Kathleen Phillips and husband Robert, Reba Bowling, Annie Duncan and husband James; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friend for visitation Tuesday, February 7 from 6 P.M. until time of funeral services at 8 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with bro. Jody Harness and bro. Ryan Rhoden officiating. Music will be provided by James Sexton and the Phillips Trio.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 8 at 1 P.M. in the Daniel Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
