JANN KELLEY

Jann Kelley, 79, of Oneida passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Huntsville Manor Nursing Home in Huntsville.

Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents Wiley Hamlin and Ivory Ison Hamlin.

Survivors include her son, Kelly Brooks and wife, Christina of Oneida; two grandchildren, Jessica Brooks of Knoxville, and Karri Armstrong and husband, Newell, of Oneida; three great-grandsons, Kaden, Phoenix, and Declan; one sister, Lafern Melton of Lima, Ohio; one brother, Walker Hamlin of Lima, Ohio; and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Kelley's wishes were cremation.

JOSEPH M. BARR

Joseph M. Barr, 70, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

Mr. Barr was a Purdue University alumnus, owner of a custom residential/commercial construction company, and served in the Army National Guard achieving the rank of first lieutenant. He was an accomplished carpenter and could fix almost anything. He also enjoyed cooking for his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him well.

Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Barr and Mary F. (Price) Barr.

Survivors include his wife, Maryann Duncan Barr, Greenwood; brother, James W. Barr II and wife Ellen, Fort Wayne, IN; son, Adam Barr and wife Cathy, Whiteland, IN; daughter, Angela Brown and husband Jeff, Bellbrook, OH; son, Stephen Barr and wife Kimberly, Hilliard, OH; and son, Wesley Barr and wife Shimul, Ventura, CA; grandchildren, Joseph, Viktoria and Alexis Barr, Rowan and Lydia Brown, Asher, Henry and William Barr, and Montgomery Barr; and his beloved kitties.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Church in Helenwood Friday, February 3 at 11 A.M.

Burial and graveside service will follow at the Duncan Cemetery in Huntsville.

CHELSIE COLLIER

Chelsie Collier, 81, of Oneida passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at Tennova of Lafollette. Born in Scott County on August 2, 1935 to the late Hurstle and Eva Harness.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Collier; brothers: Laurence, Ramon, and infant brother; sisters: Charlsey and Ida.

Survivors include Janet Claxton and husband Jeff; sister: Ella Ruth Harness; brother: Roger Lee Harness; nephews: Aaron Harness and wife Lanetta, Thurman Harness, Dustin, Jacob, Jordan, and Joshua; nieces: Ashley, Trish, and Beverly Berry; seven grandchildren; Mikkah (Michael) Yancey, Wyatt Yancey, Marissa (Sweet Pea) Nelson, Deseray West, Layne Harness, Tanessa Seeber, and Patrick Seeber; two special friends: Lanetta Harness and Jaretta Jones and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday January 25 at 7 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Don Hughett officiating. Music was provided by Jimmy Byrd.

Graveside service were held Thursday January 26 at 11 A.M. in the Bull Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

KATHERINE SUE CRABTREE LOWE

Katherine Sue Crabtree Lowe, 56, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at her home. She was born May 17, 1960 in Scott County to J. H. Crabtree and Judy Jeffers Crabtree.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Lowe, Sisters: Francis Harness and husband Finley; Grandparents: Marley and Mae Jeffers, Ewell and Minervia Crabtree.

Survivors include children: Wanda Day and husband Pat, Jennifer Carroll and companion Rick Goodman, Zamma Lowe, Gloria Bowling and husband Starlin "Boy", Emily Burchfield; parents: J. H. Crabtree and Judy Jeffers Crabtree; companion: John Burchfield; grandchildren: Anthony Carroll, Nena Carroll, Courtney Day, Jonathan Bowling, Abygale Overton; brother: James "Buddy" Crabtree and wife Joyce; sister: Margaret Crabtree and fiancé Jonathan Cook; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 28 at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida with bro. Troy Burchfield and bro. Don Hughett officiating. Music was provided by the Adkins Family.

Burial followed in the Smokey Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

LORETTA H. DUNCAN

Loretta H. Duncan, 82, of Helenwood, passed away Friday, January 26, 2017 at Oneida Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born December 1, 1934 to the late Donald and Virginia Nickley Abbott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Pret" Duncan; brothers: Donald, Thomas and Charles Abbott; sister: Ida Biggs; in-laws: Leland and Helen Duncan, Arnold and Orangie Duncan, Lois Duncan, Jack Vineyard and Cathy Abbott.

Survivors include sisters: Barbara Vineyard and Mildred Gill; in-laws: Viola Abbott, Jerry Biggs, Walter Duncan; special caregivers, Kitten and Wayne Seabolt, Michelle Burchfield, Stacey and Kylie Seabolt, and Geraldine Vann; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 30 at 8 PM in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with bro. Herb Smith and bro. Wayne Seabolt officiating. Music was provided by Kandi Roberts.

Graveside services were Tuesday, Janaury 31 at 12 Noon in the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Delbert Duncan, Sonny Duncan, Dakoda Slaven, Colby Wisner, Lance McGhee, Adam McGhee.

Honorary pallbearers were: Jadon Burchfield, Eli Burchfield, Dennis McGhee, Will Duncan, Johnny Lloyd, Robie Williams.

JAMES ERNEST BYRD, JR.

James Ernest Byrd, Jr., 69, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Born March 1, 1947 he is the son of the late James Ernest Byrd, Sr. and Sylbia Byrd.

James joined the United States Army straight out of high school and served his country proudly. He is a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and was very strong in his faith. James highly enjoyed wood working and fishing. He was a very loving husband, father and brother who always tried to help whomever he could. He will be greatly and sadly missed.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Wilba Jean Byrd, Ondria Ruth Byrd, Muriel (Murl) Byrd, Althea Adkins, Patricia Barrett, Marjorie Bond, and his wife of 30 years, Marie Byrd.

Survivors include his children, Jimmy Schoeb and wife Catherine of Ireland, James Byrd and fiancée Melissa of Milford, Ohio, Aubrey Hutson and husband Craig Goad of Huntsville, Amanda Bertram and fiancé Danny of Huntsville, and Adam Byrd and fiancée Heather Jacoway of Oneida; special family friend and companion, Carolyn Isaacs; grandchildren, Paige Hutson, Caleb Cooper, Gini Byrd, JD Byrd, Jamie Schoeb, Hanna Byrd, Katie Henson, Bayleigh Thompson, Aiden Morgan and Kristin Henson; sisters, Bernice Hutson of Jonesboro, AR, Carolyn Chambers of Oneida, Venna West of Knoxville; brothers, Marvin Byrd and wife Joyce of Chatsworth, GA, Ledford Byrd and wife Ada of Huntsville; also leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Byrd family Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6 P.M. until time of the funeral service at 8 P.M. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with bro. Ledford Byrd and bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the Lloyd Family.

Graveside service will be conducted Friday, February 3, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Byrd-Rector Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Adam Byrd, James Byrd, Derek Sexton, Edmon Lowe, Ted Adkins, and Danny Henson.
