It was Homecoming night and the Oneida Indians were not about to let anyone rain on their parade, or even score for that matter as they shutout Jellico 54-0.
Oneida's Nash Lay got the crowd going early as he picked off a Jellico pass and returned it for a touchdown, the Indians never looked back.
Evan Roberts scored on a four-yard touchdown run to give the Indians a 13-0 lead.
Alex Bowling scored from 44 yards out and Logan Marlow added the two-point conversion to give Oneida a 21-0 cushion.
The Indians ran the ball 34 times for 265. Roberts led the way with 68 yards and a touchdown on six carries, while Jake Lawson added 50 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Marlow completed three of five passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns on the night.
"Logan has really emerged," Oneida coach Tony Lambert said. "We are very pleased with him."
Marlow connected with CJ Shafer on a 31-yard touchdown pass that included a circus catch that put the Indians up 27-0.
"Shafer ran a great route," Lambert said. "I told him he caught it four times. It was a great play."
Lawson gave Oneida a 34-0 lead on a 12-yard touchdown run and Braxton Chitwood extended the Indians lead to 47-0 on a 10-yard touchdown run.
Johnny Manis capped off the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run for the 54-0 advantage.
Lay continued to be a weapon as he averaged 41.5 yards per punt for the Indians.
"I've been a lot of places and Nash Lay is the best punter I've ever coached," Lambert said. "It's not just the booming punts, it's his consistency. He's been fantastic over a four year career."
